And to think Sam didn't want to include Dead Strange in the film.

"But Sam, to his credit, had no interest in coming in and just playing the hits. Sam did not come in and say, I need you to give me a zombie. And in fact, when I presented the idea of Dead Strange to him, there was a real hesitancy on his part, because he didn’t want it to seem like he was just saying I want to do my Sam Raimi thing.”

I don't care for zombies or gore in general myself, though I do have a taste for the macabre. Not an overwhelming one, but I like to have a varied palette in everything. However, I'm more of a Del Toro/Gothic man than a Conenberg/Romero/Roth/etc one. For me it's about having something beautiful arise from death, Hell, the Pit, the "End" in general. The whole "savage beauty" motif. Simple gore and blood n' guts type of extreme gross-out violence played for catharsis are a different taste that doesn't appeal to me. There are always exceptions, but they need to have something else going for them too for me to care.

I love myself a good zombie movie but have never seen the appeal in zombified Marvel characters either. But this to me was more than just a cheap gimmick and actually came across as a really fun and inspired idea that made sense for the story.

And the fact it was the result of a mystical spell and not the usual virus or plague we've seen a thousand times before made it feel a bit more unique as well.

As a big fan of the marvel zombies comic (1,2 and dead days) I would be interested in those figures, but not by hot toys because of their pricing.

This was one of the best things I've seen in the MCU so it's an amazing piece for me to have. I think it'll be something I try to save points for and blow them all on it.

Looks incredible. Very impressed, honestly; great design in the film that translated well to figure form. Hot Toys went all out.

Nice cross appeal to horror fans as well.

I haven't seen the film yet, but this looks incredible. Looks like a great display and it looks all so well-crafted. Agreed, it also has a horror-like feel to it.

That’s not something I want to wake up at 3AM and see looking at me from a shelf. :lol

:rotfl

Yeah it might spook some persons I imagine :lol Well there's plenty of other things I don't want to see on my shelf at 3AM :ROFLMAO:

Just looking at the comment count on this on FB. WIth 2,2k comments it's by far the most talked about figure in a long time. Other figures only manage a couple of hundred comments at best.

Sure some of that could be simply outrage over no heritage Spidermen figures, but still found it interesting.

Shows the appetite for horror looking figures. If HT got a license like Walking Dead or others it would be huge, but no...Spidey and Star Wars forever.
I’m surprised there isn’t an appetite for American or British horror over there to help justify a 1/6 scale line. Dead Strange has the advantages of being (as far as I can tell) a superior sculpt (best since OG Strange IMO), a Marvel tie in and a unique version that overlaps into horror. It has made me rethink what I’m getting next year.

I don't believe that's the case IMO. I'm not craving for horror stuff. It just looks a nicely done figure from Hot Toys. Most likely those that watched the movie remember that scene and see this thinking Hot Toys did well in capturing it.

Price aside, which was expected with all that's going on, it's an awesome looking figure!

Is it weird to say the figure is actually scarier than the actual film.

This version looked like something from Campbell’s Evil Dead in the film

But this figure looks very scary in a George Romero evil style of a character IMO
