I also had the chance to meet the incredibly drunk Replacements many years ago. All except Paul Westerberg who was in a corner making out with some girl. They put on one of their worst shows ever! I loved it! :lol

love the mats... i got to meet Tommy after a show they did. He even got us passed a bouncer when we were underage, but Paul was just hanging out by himself drinking kinda giviing off this vibe that made you want to leave him alone.

:lol:lol I was thinking that exact same thing. My favorite musician in the whole entire world, I have had 3 opportunities to meet, but I turned them down. I idolize him....it would freak me out to meet him in person...even though everyone says he is so nice....I just can't though...I would cry and be all weird so I'm saving us both the embarrassment....who is this musician that could bring me to tears, you ask....none other than Trent F'n Reznor. I love him!!! The nicest musicians I've met are Ben Harper and Maynard James Keenan...and ofcourse the Seattle musicians....:)

NIN is the best effing band EVER!! I've met Trent! I lined up for 8 hours to meet the guy. it was amazing. i felt like i was on cloud nine after meeting him. seen the band 9 times in concert. i just can't get enough.

Oh, cool...a name dropping thread! Where's Irish?

I've met Bruce Campbell three times and Crispin Glover once. I've also met various musicians over the years. The coolest being Frank Zappa.

Man thats awesome, i'd love to meet Bruce Campbell, that guy frickin rules!

Other than the Caps players I met these people because I used to work at a private FBO at Dulles airport in the 90's and a lot of people used to come through there. Most were very nice because we were not "fans" getting in their faces and bugging them. I'd alwyas just shake hands and give a polite "hello" or "I respect your work".

Here are celbrities that
I would love to meet:
Roger Moore
Christopher Lee
Bruce Campbell
Stephen Spielberg
Tim Burton
Michael Keaton
Pierce Brosnan
Sam Raimi

Here are celebrities that
I have actually met (or spoke to):
Karen Allen
Dave Attell
Kenny Baker
Jeremy Bullcoh
Gerge Carlin (ignored me)
Carrie Fisher
Grey DeLisle
Anthony Daniels
Donnie Dunnagan
James Gandolfini
Adrian Grenier (kind of, he ignored me)
Anthony Michael Hall
Tom Hanks
Eric Idle
Orlando Jones
Robert Kennedy
Peter Mayhew
Bill Paxton
David Prowse
Jason Ritter
Robert Rodriguez
Jeff Ross
Martin Sheen
Tony Siroco
Kevin Sorbo
Wanda Sykes (kind of, she ignored me. her show sucked anyway.)
George Wallace
Owen Wilson (saw Luke too, but didn't talk to him)

I might be forgetting some, and I have seen a few more celebrities, but never actually talked to them (Steve Martin, Harry Dean Stanton, and several more.) Unless noted, most of them were really nice and pretty cool.

I was lucky enough to meet most of these people at festivals and local conventions. I actually saw Anthony Michael Hall chilling in Las Vegas, but he seemed busy and I didn't want to bother him, so I waited until he got up, and as he was about to leave, I went up and started talking to him. He is without a doubt one of the NICEST people you could EVER meet. Celebrity, or other wise. I even got to ask him about THE DARK KNIGHT, but he couldn't say much.

Alice in Chains was doing a Tsunami Benefit in Seattle a couple years ago. At that time they didn't have a new singer so there were several musicians who came to perform with AIC. MJK was one of them. I believe he did a 2 or 3 songs...he was amazing, my favorite of all that performed. During the rehearsals he was pretty quiet and kept to himself...he had his girlfriend with him. He was very polite and friendly though. Shorter than I thought he would be. He was very low-key, not even wanting a driver to get him food, he just walked to Taco Bell. Anyway, I didn't really talk much with him. It was obvious he preferred his space and I'm not one to ambush people. I remember him being extremely polite and kinda shy....well maybe he's not really shy and that's just the vibe he puts off...but then some artists have different personas when they go on stage that are quite opposite how they are in real life. Anyway, point being, I've met some musicians that had this grandiose sense of entitlement because they are famous....he was not like that all...very down to earth and that impressed me a great deal. I'm a big fan of his.... he's a creative genius in my eyes.

And Reinhardt, perhaps someday I'll meet Trent. I know his manager and perhaps one day I'll be ready to meet my hero. :) Just not yet.....not yet. :lol

I met Dave Grohl a while ago. He is a pretty nice guy. Rode on the subway in NYC with Laura San Giacomo (my son was 2 and was fliting with her. She thought it was awesome). I too have met Bruce Campbell a couple times here in SLC during Sundance. Ummmmmm I have met Hilary Hahn (pretty famous violinist). Met John Nathan-Turner (producer of Doctor Who).

My brother (former ADA in Manhattan) put one of the Ramones in jail for beating an old man on the subway (don't remember which Ramone) and he bumped Lou Reed on to his junkie ass coming out of an art exhibit). :lol

I have observed that most of you bastards have dropped more names in one single post in this thread than I have combined total in my entire posting career. You have now lost any leverage and moral authority you thought you had. :lol

:lecture :lecture :lecture :lecture :lecture :lecture

I've met Alice Cooper and Brian May of Queen individually. Both were VERY cool. Brian May wins the contest for coolest celeb I've met ever though. I had a really bad viral infection, my nose was scaly from peeling, running like a waterfall. I had a box of kleenex in my right hand and looked like death warmed over. He grabbed my hand with both of his and shook it warmly (twice!). Man, I tell you, I wouldn't even have wanted to touch me! (laugh).
Nice guy. I only hope I damned everyone else behind me in line with my cooties. :) (what can I say, I'm EVIL dammit!) :chew:chew:chew

Bill Paxton seems low key and kind of boring in the interveiws I've seen.

Michael Beihn seems fun though (at least to watch).

Wait, what? Explain please!

I was Shaq's bodyguard for a day at Planet Hollywood. It was there that I also pissed off Bruce Willis and carried John Goodman's drunken @$$ down a flight of stairs to toss him into a limo.

I almost met Bruce Campbell, but he was running late, and I got tired of waiting. So I left. :( I did the same thing with Terry Ferrell, who played Dax in Deep Space Nine.

Once, when leaving a con where I was looking for Sideshow stuff (to no avail), I was brought up short by the spectacle of none other than Marc Singer, the Beastmaster himself. :rock He was rather curt with me, but in a polite way. I'm sure he was sick of being there. :\ He was standing next to one of the chicks from Cleopatra 3000. (Not the one from Firefly. One of the others.) She was like, "Don't you wanna talk to me?" And I was like, "Umm, gotta go..."

Wait, what? Explain please!

Okay. So this past November, my parents and I were vacationing in Las Vegas for the Comedy Festival. On our last day, we spent the afternoon at the Planet Hollywood Casino (Man it sucks since they've changed it from Aladdin. It used to be very beautiful, now it's mostly depressing.) While walking past a bar near the entrance, I saw this guy sitting down talking with some ladies. I looked at him, and noticed he looked extremely familiar. He looked back at me, but I didn't want to bother him, so I walked around the casino for a while until I came back and saw that he was paying the bartender, getting ready to leave.

I then approached him, and asked if he was Anthony Michael Hall. He said yes, and I told him I had been a fan since VACATION. He was extremely outgoing and down to earth, asking me where I was from, who I was with, and what I was doing in Vegas. I then asked him about his role in the new Batman movie, and he said he couldn't say anything since he signed a contract. But I did say I was a huge Batman fan, and he told me this one was oing to be ALOT darker, and better than BEGINS. I then asked if he was playing a famous comic book character and he said, "I wish! I wish I could be playing Batman or the Joker." Then I told him I heard he was playing The Riddler, and he said that was just a rumor since people had to keep guessing who he was playing.

Either way, I was lucky enough to get a photo with him. He is truly one of the nicest celebrities, and people in general, that I have ever met.
