Could the reason for the Bond switch (Brosnan to Craig) be licensing issues? Not sure what kind of deal was signed, but Golden Eye was a long time ago.

I saw the trailer and I have to wonder, who is the guy hanging with Bond? I don't recall a character like that in the original game or the movie. In fact, much of the trailer didn't seem like any of the levels from the original game at all.
Also no sign of Natalya, Trevelyn or Xenia anywhere.

I'm pretty certain that guy is 006, and that there are added missions with him at the start of the game.
And I also just realised I spelt Goldeneye wrong in the title
If any mod wants to fix it, that would be awesome.

I didn't even notice that, I guess I knew automatically what you were talking about and didn't even look

As a huge Bond fan, I have mixed feelings about this. I never owned an N64, but first discovered GoldenEye a few years ago on a PC emulator. I spent quite a bit of time on it, and it became one of the few non-fighting games I really enjoyed.
I was always hoping they'd redo the game with updated graphics, so this kinda fits the bill. However, I am severely disappointed this isn't gonna be on the PS3. I can understand Nintendo wanting it to be a console exclusive like the original, but I'd rather take sleek HD graphics over Wiimote gameplay (yes, I'm jealous I don't own a Wii!)
I am also torn over the choice of Craig. On one hand, Brosnan owned the film and made it the success he was. Not to bring him back in the most popular game based on his best film is almost insulting. However, the thought of Craig's rebooted Bond in the reimagined GoldenEye storyline has interesting possibilities. I'd always kinda wanted to know what would be like if his modern take went on classic Bond adventures, so this is the closest we'll get.

definitely gonna get this. the part i love most about the original goldeneye was playing single player and then killing sean bean so all the russian guards can rush you and then battling them out for the next 4 hours.

Still have my N64 to play this game. Then new one looks alright, but there's no way to replace the fun memories of the original's MP.
