I 100% agree that it’s horrendous but at the same time, and as much as I’d love to point out the hypocrisy people have shown for buff muscle man vs waifu character, nobody really bothers criticising the other random third party figs period. If shark toys made a really crappy Tifa or Aerith, I’d bet the majority of people here wouldn’t even comment on it
If we would talk about all of the third party 1/6 Tifa releases and all of the third party 1/4 and 1/3 scale Tifa releases so far here,
there would be pretty much nothing else than negativity for every single one of them (except the really expensive limited custom made ones)
because a simple Youtube search quickly shows that basically 95% of these releases look horrible and 5% are kinda okayish
if you want some random pretty brunette with a body that doesnt represent Remake Tifa at all but comes with her clothes.
Even on a lot of the thumbnails it literally says like "nice try" and so on. So i dont know whats there to talk about.
Thats such a low bar, its not even worth to use it for comparison.
That whole Tifa gallery with the "pre order picture, factory update, actually released product" that someone posted a couple of pages ago
was originally made by me. I posted it last year i think. So everyone who wants to see what you get for 400-800 USD until now
just has to look at that comparison gallery.
Its bad. Its like ordering Hot Toys BvS Henry Cavill Superman but instead you get Pierce Brosnan as Superman made by Hasbro.
None of them represent original Tifa, none of them represent Remake Tifa. Its a random collection of pretty pornstar cosplay models wearing Tifas outfit.
So of course people want the Gametoys version to be the best and most authentic game version,
because its a company with one of the highest quality product releases. There are already more than enough sexy nude cosplay Tifas.
Now its time for a actual decent authentic Remake Tifa that looks like the game model and nothing else.
The Gametoys version isnt better just because all the other ones are terrible. The other ones so far are terrible either way.
So i hope Gametoys can knock this out of the park and then we are happy and thats it.
I would love to talk about all the other (non Gametoys) releases that are terrible too but then it will be too "whiny" for this board again.
Sure, if there is no other choice or option than what we have now, yeah, you can get some kind of Tifa or Barret lookalike figure ... kind of.
But lets be real, its not the real deal. Not even close. And i refuse to accept this "its the best option out of the terrible options"
thought process as the measurement bar for quality. Just no.
