This figure is SOLD... BUT!

If you are interested in having a Rhodey head for your HT MKII Then get your name on the LIST!

Hello All,

From Day one I had a problem with the Hot Toys MKII. The movie suit was tack welded (small indentions) and not raised rivets.

So to achieve this I started with the MKIII Battle Damaged version and now I present CREG Customs MKII Armor. :yess:

Thanks for coming along for the ride!

Head problems...

So - the War Machine Rhodey head will NOT fit in the MKII helmet. The inside head is build so differently that it requires major resculpting.

I can't do that because I have to return Rhodey to his War Machine custom.

So - I hacked off The Tony Stark face and the Rhodey face and had to fill in the back of the Rhodey head to make it fit in the MKII helmet as seen below.

Don't expect to see a lot of these floating around... Unless someone ~cough~cough~ were to offer them up... Hmmm.

Ok - So I need a way to swap out both Tony and Rhodey on the same reveal helmet.

Magnets!

Placed a srew in the head base and mags in the face plates...

Mann those weld spots are going to take a while... I envy your patience.

Re: Custom Hot Toys Iron Man MKII Armor - Reverse Engineering WIP

Is there a reason you're using the battle damaged Mark III as a base instead of the original Mark III figure?

Anyway I look forward to seeing the results. Looks like a lot of effort.

:yess: LOL I thrive on the details!

Thanks - the plastic elbow and knee joint covers are a big bonus because the original MK 3's are rubber. I also like the removable chest plate and the improved armor panels on the back and legs.

This should be interesting. I love seeing your customs, but seeing the progress from square one is definitely cool.

Time to seriously geek out on this one! I love the BD Mark II so can't wait to see what you do with it.

Best of luck

I'm all over this thread:D! ..can't wait to see how this turns out!

Re: Custom Hot Toys Iron Man MKII Armor - Reverse Engineering WIP

Since you're doing the Mark II, make sure to get the good paint. The HT Mark II silver paint doesn't reflect like the movie suit does, that's probably the bigger challenge to get right than the rivets. Good luck!

Thanks guys!

Nah - No prob on the paint... :wink1:

I painted/chromed this part of Optimus Prime some time back and plan on using the same paint.

The red paint looks dull. Did you sand down those parts?

Right about the paint there when HT release the MKII which wasn't movie accurate, actually was wondering if HT will ever release a "improved" MKII? Any case, looking forward to the end product!:clap
