I have my xm magneto on top with no issues

ok, you win this thread. So those are Besta's on top, what are the drawers on the bottom called as well?

That's exactly what I've been looking for. I have my sectional next to a wall and was thinking a setup like that would work perfectly as I can store things underneath and then have the displays seen above the couch.

It looks like the tall (75 5/8") Besta frame with a 10 1/4" and 15" drawer in the bottom third. They are all part of the Besta system. The top cubes are not separate from the drawers - or at least they don't need to be.

I just purchased a whole new besta system over the weekend

can anyone tell me why there's an $80 price difference between this one:

https://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S19090114/#/S29090095

and this one:

https://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S19090114/#/S19090109

and even more of a price difference in this one:

I like the first one with the brown drawers but can't get that color any other way. Just wondering what makes it so much more expensive. Thanks!

It's just the difference in cost of the doors/drawer fronts. I don't believe there is any discount if you buy the "pre-configured" combinations that they show, so you are can easily just design your own starting from scratch.

You can also use the Besta Planner tool to design your Besta system and it will make sure to add the little things that you may overlook (hinges, middle support legs, etc.).

Thanks!

The planner is a little hard to use. One more question. The link I showed before shows 2 of them together. Do they have to be together like that in order to install the drawers/doors? Or can I just buy 1 and make it look like that?

No - they can be stand alone. I have a single tall frame like the ones you pointed out in my sons' room. It has the 2 full doors on the top 2/3rds and a 10" drawer and 15" cabinet door on the bottom 1/3rd.

The planner is not the easiest tool to use, but it is helpful when you want to go to IKEA and pick up the Besta components. When you are done designing, it will print out the item numbers, quantity, and aisle/bin specific to the store you choose.

How thick are the walls of each besta frame? Trying to figure out interior dimensions before purchasing. Thanks!

Just look up the shelf

Thanks. Frame is 23-5/8". Shelf is only 22" wide. Hard to believe the frame is .75" thick. I assume there is a space between the edge of the shelf and the frame itself do to mounting tab. I need 22.8" width in order to fit two legend studio cases side by side. Possible? If anyone could measure usable interior width of the 75-5/8" frame I would appreciate it.

I'm going to look when I make the (long) trip down to an IKEA soon, but may I ask how close to true black the "black-brown" Bestas are? Pretty close, or is the brown tint fairly strong?

The doors and shelves are optional. You can get large or small doors, and tinted or clear glass. They even have frosted
