#status: done! (avaiting updated pics. Jan.2014)
EDIT: yea, might not look like that much have changed, but... much have changed.
Little details added here and there + added weaponry. Tried to make this thing as movie accurate as I can with the parts I can acquire... ofcourse there are differences, it's not perfect, nothing ever is...
+ it seems like every single little detail in this movie changes from scene to scene, even the movie posters are not consistent, but I did the best I could.

Teaser pics on post #135: https://www.sideshowcollectors.com/forums/showpost.php?p=3405203&postcount=135
I liked the idea of making this figure, but in reality it seems almost too simple? Kinda dull even.
Really hard to get decent pics of it, since there's not much going on, but I'll give it a try.
Obviously the jacket & hat are a bit wrong, but those are the best I could find.
Body is just a buffed up TT (bubble wrap + ducktape), HT Arnie body would've been a waste + a very tight fit clothes wise.
I hope I can still figure out how to make the ID-badge for him. It might give me a few options posing wise...
MORE PICS COMING SOON! IF THERE'S ENOUGH INTREST... SEEMS I'M KINDA LAZY NOWADAYS.

DIE HARD (1988)
#status: done!
hated this figure for the longest time. actually I think I've been sitting on this for about six monts now.
I had the eBay knock-off with stubble&hair as the head and the whole thing just felt really, really off...
it wasn't until I sculpted the hair myself to the bald Colton knock-off's, that everything started falling into place.
still feel the HT head is off... but it's the best one out there at the moment.
I want my figures as seemless as possible. hence the "sleeves".
they dont articulate very well, but I keep my figures mostly in static poses anyway.
I seem to prefer them this way? and the sleeves do seem to compliment Willis's physique better than for example the regular TTM-19 arms...

DIE HARD 2
#status: done! (avaiting updated pics. Jan.2014)
decided to be a little different and went with the cheezy and underrated sequel to the blockbuster that is DIE HARD...
WHY? you may ask, but as a FIN it's close to my heart. Sibelius, snow, Renny Harlin...
and funny enough there is actually a Commando (1985) connection in the movie.
from IMBD: The General (in Die Hard2) is from "Valverde", the fictitious Latin-American country used in Commando. (The first Die Hard was originally supposed to be the sequel to that movie).
this bash was a very enjoyable experience and I'm thinking of doing a bash from the first instalment too...
I must say I had my doubts about the Brothers Production dirty Johnny head, but it really seems to be the best likeness out there at the moment (just realised mine's actually just a very good and nicely painted knock-off from the original Bros. head. and the sculpt still looks nice.). actually I like the Art-Figures head more, but the bit too heavy beard and the lack of hair make the Bros. head an easy choice. really hoping Hot Toys will eventually pick up the license.

BEYOND THE LAW
#status: done!
this is Sid, man.
for anyone intrested in the film: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0103805/?ref_=ttrel_rel_tt
Story:
Dan Saxon is an undercover cop who infiltrates a biker gang to nail the scum behind a drug-smuggling operation.
In order to maintain the trust of the gang's leader, he must commit ever more dangerous and heinous crimes.
Just how far 'beyond the law' will Saxon go? (Written by Alfred Jingle)
. . .
done. finally... I'm really, really happy I saw this through as I started the project well over a year ago.
originally thought about doing this when Hot Toys Chris Taylor was first announced in 2010, but chickened out... and mere 3 years later, here we are
I'm not much of a painter or a sculptor, but I think the long hair and beard came out ok. without the Chris Taylor forehead seam I could've tried something a bit more natural with the hair, but all-in-all I think it came out pretty nice.
EDIT: please mind that the picture was taken at an unflattering angle considering the hair. from other angles it falls more naturally to the figures shoulders...
to me the blu-ray release of "Beyond the Law/Fixing The Shadow/Hart Wie Stahl/Made of Steel" seems very, very dark and the colors just seem somewhat off...
so, I based the color palette on the figure closer to my own recollections of the original PAL VHS-tape I used to have.
I was really struggeling with a good pose, untill I realised something as simple as lighting a cigarette might really fit the character well.
I didn't want to underline the bikerlook with guns etc. something simple works fine with the subjectmatter...
all the printwork was a drag, as it all had to be drawn from scratch, but well worth it... overall a fun little project that somewhere in the process became very, very personal to me.
