So just curious what people's thought are on shipment. We see blogger photos today so when do you think Sideshow would actually start shipping these? A local collectibles shop usually gets these from Sideshow so I just want to see when it might arrive there.

That sculpt is terrible. I’m still getting it but it’s certainly one of their worst for me. The only hope is that it looks better in hand like that last Rey figure, which also looks terrible in pictures.

I think this looks pretty good.

Their last Rey figure looked exactly the same in hand compared to the photos for me. Never sold a Hot Toys figure so fast.

Yeah, all perception. I thought that Rey was so much better in hand but looked like a man in photos. I guess that’s the fun part, we all like different stuff and collections are unique.

I don’t put stock too much into Hot Toys anymore. For the most part, they’re subpar and usually always leave room to be desired, the whole process through from the announcement pictures to final bloggers. What drives me to purchase a Hot Toy really is to have the representation in my collection and on that note, it’s satisfying enough. This is a typical/standard figure that looks nice and gets the job done. I think I’m done criticizing final releases unless there’s something that blatantly changed like with the Raimi Spider-Man mask.

That being said, I’m excited to have this in my collection as she will be a forefront staple in my Prequels display. <3

I feel like she looks better with the scarf/cloak thing. It fills out the figure a bit. I’m just worried about staining the white outfit if she wears it too long. It’s unbelievable we have to worry about fabrics and stains on $300 figures.

I have this on PO though I’m not particularly thrilled with the likeness, it’s only “good enough” imo, which is a direction I’m trying to steer away from in my collection. But I worry Padme isn’t likely to get another release for while, that is unless we get a Queen Amidala style figure for TPM 25th. Decisions, decisions.

Agreed. Too much of a giraffe neck without the scarf. That said, with the scarf, I think she looks pretty good!

I feel like the likeness looks better in the simpler blogger photos compared to the more photoshopped ones, so that bodes well for the sculpt. Either way, I think it turned out good enough to finally put a preorder in at Pop Cultcha.

Yeah while I'd love for every figure to have a perfect, dead on likeness, there are times when all I'm really looking for is just a representation of the character that works well from a distance or adds a bit of variety to the collection. And this is one of those times, especially since I'm far from a diehard prequel fan anyway.

Usually it takes several iterations for Hot Toys to get the sculpt right so hopefully later Padme figures will nail the likeness better.

Look at how many Wonder Womans there were before the Gal Gadot likeness became satisfactory with the two sculpts for the WW84 figures. The first Ahsoka was mediocre but the DX is quite good.
