EXO-6 Star Trek “The Motion Picture (TMP)” Figures

Admiral Kirk arrived yesterday and I now had the pleasure of unboxing the figure.

Let me just say that it really is a special presentation, though out. The shipping box is unique and quite robust. I had just one small dent which was more of an indentation.

Upon opening it, I removed the cardboard cover sheet and was presented with the beautiful figure box. Upon opening that, the cover artwork brought a smile to my face - it is the docking port to the refit Enterprise, where Scotty brings Kirk back to the ship, for the first time. What an awesome idea to have that artwork presentation for this figure.

The figure is simply beautiful. I LOVE the head sculpt. It definitely captures Kirk at that time as well as his character. The uniform is impeccable. The gold badge was a great touch to this figure.

I have to say that he has moved into the top three Star Trek figures, for me. I cannot wait for TMP Spock and McCoy, now.

Thank you! I just noticed that the stitching on the collar is straight, which is fantastic!

Such an elegant looking figure.

Adm Kirk left the international processing centre at Langley on Sat 3rd and nothing updated since then. Normally it would have been delivered in that period. Getting worried now, the longer it's in transit, the greater chance of it getting damaged.

Cutting so close to Christmas makes this purchase slightly problematic as buying for oneself just now is dicey and could make eyes roll. I wouldn't mind a month push back, but may have to explain to my wife it's better to give than receive.

I will ask my wife to just wrap mine, add a tag and say it was from her, and slide mine under the tree!

Admiral on the bridge

It’s all about the lighting bringing out the contours of the sculpt with the good Admiral.

It looks like Kolinahr Spock will be Limit one (1) per customer.

Can't remember anything specific. Nanjin gonna do Nanjin things.

He said something about Spock selling out faster because he’s got more of a mainstream appeal than Kirk. I can see that, but also I’m not sure how many people who aren’t into sixth scale figures will buy it.

Spock is back up on the Exo-6 website and listed as coming soon.

Probably annoyed at how quickly some Kirks showed up on ebay at twice the price.

Cotswold Collectibles just canceled my Admiral Kirk TMP pre-order.
Their explanation follows:
"I just wanted to reach out because we were contacted by Sideshow yesterday afternoon informing us that we will not be getting any EXO-6 Star Trek: The Motion Picture - Admiral James T. Kirk figures. Until yesterday, we were unaware that this was a limited-edition figure and were under the impression that we had until December 15th to place our preorder. However, our Sideshow rep informed us, they pre-sold out within days of their preorder going live. After the news that they (our distributor) could not supply this for us, we took it to the manufacturer EXO-6 but they’ve yet to respond. This predicament leaves us with our hands tied and having to cancel all orders for this figure.
We sincerely apologize and hate to have to cancel an order.

I think it's funny that they thought they could place a pre-order with Sideshow until Dec. 15

Surprised this wasn't posted here yet. TMP Spock goes up next Tuesday.

After watching the Motion Picture tonight I kind of wish I could have had Spock in his grey duty uniform to go with the Admiral Kirk and Bones in his white medical uniform, maybe a Kirk in his duty uniform etc. I also liked the away team jackets at the end. Scotty would also have been nice. I like the look of Spock in his robes and Bones with a beard BUT just wish we had a uniformed Spock and Bones really. Over the years the Motion Picture has grown on me a lot.

I like the Spock we’re getting. McCoy is the questionable choice to me even though I get what Nanjin is going for (the trio as they arrived on the refit Enterprise). Disco McCoy I feel may look a little weird and out of place.
