So is the kid even in the movie? I recall a big fuss about the kid possibly being an integral character in the movie but haven't heard a peep about him. If not, think they scrapped his scenes along with the tank predators? I really would have liked to see the original version of this movie - mostly for laughs.

Can’t wait for the new Predator sitcom series.

Man on man this movie is awful. I was prepared for crap but what a mess. The kid and the whole part he plays ruins the film. The cgi is crap, the plot makes no sense, there are numerous moments where as a big fan of this franchise I literally shook my head in disbelief. Some things are genuinely unbeliveable. The sheer comedy and making the whole franchise seem like a big joke is just crazy. I know the original doesn't exactly take itself too seriously but they literally stripped any seriousness of the predator away. Don't get me started on his pets. Worst of all was the ending and the god awful visuals and designs that came with it, what were they thinking?!

As you can always expect there are some cool scenes visually and I have to say the lead human bad guy, Traeger, who is always chewing gum, made a great throwback 80s villain and really stole the show in terms of performances. I also didn't mind the lead and a few of the other crew members.

4/10 and that's being really generous. AVP-R is still marginally worse for me due to the general production value but it's not far off. I'd give that a 2/10

So...AvP 3? :monkey3

I can't go into much without using spoiler tags and I'm on my phone so can't access them but yeah it's bad. I can't believe the ending and how they handled the kid. The final piece of dialogue is also incredibly cringey, I've no idea where that came from.

I was introduced to Predator by borrowing a friends VHS tape in hight school. Later in 91 I watched Predator 2 and loved it! It was such a fully satisfying sequel with introducing the culture of the Predator! I could not wait for it to be released on VHS (it took forever) so I could buy the actual “real” tape and not a taped copy. As the internet age started coming I was so surprised at how many people thought P2 was a terrible sequel.

Movies I almost walked out of opening night:

Predator 2
The Last Crusade
Batman Returns
Alien 3
Superman 3

Over time I have come around on them except Superman 3 I still think it’s bad lol

Movies I did walk out of opening night:

Superman 4
Robocop 2

The only movie I walked out on was The Anchorman. I didn't get the comedy at the time but now I find it hilarious. I almost walked out on Sorry to Bother You.

.

The latest reviews I’ve read are from several people I actually trust – fans of the franchise rather than comments from trolls.

Seems it’s far from perfect (much like Shane Black & Olivia Munn’s decision processes then :lol ) – but is well worth seeing.

Todays TV spot was a parody of car commercials . . . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LW4ew5HVNaw
