Who's the dweeb?

I really hope they incorporate the main Donner/Williams superman theme somehow.

I couldn't hum the MOS or BVS melody to save my life right now - and I w seen both movies multiple times.

They won't. That would be like using Elfman's theme for Afflecks batman.

So the opening noise is for Batman, the opening 15 seconds...and that's the part that plays when he's doing Batman things I guess. The rest is the tragic Bruce Wayne story music. The latter is fine but the disproportionately short Batman bit is flat out crap.

I'm still not sure what Batman's theme was in BvS.

He had a couple, but I'd say his "main" theme is the one that plays when young Bruce Wayne ascends with the swarm of bats (and when stealing the data at the LexCorp party), which starts playing here at about 3:30 (couldn't find the specific part in the soundtrack):

He also had this:

Zimmer on the Batman theme.

"It just did my brain in to have written Christian Bale as Batman, and suddenly it’s Ben Affleck," he explained. "And it felt like I was betraying everything Christian had done. So there’s a certain amount of loyalty attached to those movies, as well."

Zimmer then went on to elaborate on that and it sounds like Affleck's portrayal of Batman compared to Bale's played a role in why he moved on from the DC Films

"I spent months trying to come up with something for Ben. The Batman that I know and the one I learned is the one that Christian did, and Ben plays it differently. And I can’t quite shake that off. For me, the Christian Bale character was always completely unresolved. It was always about that moment at the beginning of the first movie, where he sees his parents getting killed. It was basically arrested development. The Ben character is more middle-aged, he seems to be grumpy as hell but I didn’t feel the pain that I felt in Christian’s performance. And it was that pain that made be interested."Universe and superheroes in general.*

The Batman Forever theme might be my favorite, or closely tied with Elfman's.

As far as the music of Batman goes, I think it peaked in the early 90s with Danny Elfman and Shirley Walker. Then again, that could just be nostalgia talking (but I don't think so).

EDIT:

When I saw BvS, there was a Batman moment that sounded like something from Batman Forever. I'll have to dig it up/remember. It was probably my only favorite part of the new music, other than the nightmare sequence thing.

I dont think so, those songs are iconic, the fact that you can hum it and immediately recognize it shows how iconic it is.

I prefer the music that plays when he goes down the tube or whatever. I always loved that piece, that's originally how the film was supposed to start too (then once Bruce got down there, it's have the Batman suit up/drive thru scene).

The only thing that sucks is Batman and Robin taints a lot of those great Forever tracks since it reuses most of them in the scenes. Like that Forever one above, I think it's reused during that goofy chase scene where Arnold and Clooney are driving down that huge statue arm.

I'm reminded of

There's also some music in one of the X-men films (I think the first one) that's similar (not Eliot Goldenthal)

Yup.

The Wreckage and Rape track in Alien 3 is also used in the scene when Robin steals the Batmobile and takes on that alley gang I think. Dunno what the track is called in Forever.

When young Jyn is racing to her hideout in the beginning of Rogue One the music is very reminiscent of when John Blake loaded the kids onto the bus in TDKR.
