So excited for this system. I've been enjoying the Wii U much more recently as a Switch version 1.0. Have two Switch consoles on pre-order, BotW Special Edition, Bomberman, two charging grips, an extra power cable, a stand/cradle, and a spare controller. This is going to be amazing for when I travel for work.

So far it seems like that's the case.
Yes, I know Splatoon 2 is a "new game", but it looks pretty much the same as the first one.

And there's no way the Switch will go without a port of Sm4sh or a new installment in the series altogether. To be fair, those are pretty much the only Wii U games that have "depth", unless you want Star Fox Zero, Captain Toad, and Pikmin 3 to be ported to the Switch. :lol

A remaster of Bayonetta 2 would be cool tho.

Mario Kart should be a launch title though, and Splatoon isn't coming for several months as well. They should have Smash, Bayonetta, Super Mario 3D world, Super Mario Maker, Xenoblade Chronicles X, etc.

Also the Zelda remasters: Twilight Princess and Wind Waker. I think they're doing it right though. Breath of the Wild is the only major launch title they need. Then the rest of the year is packed with a steady stream of first party titles.

While Breath of the Wild is probably the biggest game they've ever made, Zelda isn't as popular as stuff like Smash Bros or Mario Kart. It would really help if Mario Kart were a launch title rather than coming out 2 months later, since it demonstrates the multiplayer. As far as other games for the year it's hard to say, Mario Odessey/Xenoblade could easily slip to next year (I'd be surprised if Xenoblade doesn't get delayed) and it would be much better if they had more rereleases during the down time.

Zelda on the Switch looks way better than every XBOX one launch title..

And in all fairness it was developed on the Wii U architecture and ported over

Xbox one is a four year old console

The nvidia chip is custom made, the switch would have heat issues if it had the same architecture as Microsoft and Sony

4GB VRAM is dedicated to those monstrous OS's

I believe there's untapped power in the console that will take years to utilize. The 3DS killed Sonys vita and clearly Nintendo utilized the hardware far better than Sony (and apparently Apple / Samsung)

Aside from being wrong in my opinion but wow. Better than 4 year old games. Really setting the bar high. If this came out 4 years ago it would be groundbreaking.

Those performance specs are undocked out putting at 720p

Most people won't notice a difference in visuals with screens less than 60 inches

HDR is irrelevant for tvs smaller than 60 inches same with supposed "4K" resolution

Switch is a powerful console

Take it from product testers at FOX CONN

It isn't supposed to be a primary home console it performs way better as a tablet

HDR certainly isnt irrelevant for below 60inch. My 55inch curved Samsung with HDR 4K is incredible. My neighbour has a standard 55inch and the colouration and display quality is tenfold better.

Also, undocked it runs at 60% capacity. It does not run better as a tablet because a tablet allows me to do my work on it. Switch doesnt even have a web browser for christ sake. The thing is pointless. 3 hour battery life so long journeys are buggered.

Thats if you arent like me who has a wife, child, goes outside to not play games and instead engages in family activities and never touches public transport who much prefers to play on a big TV in the combfort of my own home. The last time I used my DS or PSP was 2008 when I was at 6th form.

If Nintendo arent focusing on being a primary home console why did they not replace the 3DS? The Switch is pointless. Its backwards compared to the push technology is going for IE 4k/HDR/UHD/VR. 3rd party developers will not support the Switch when they have to considerably downgrade everything.

The first party titles are far too thinly spread. The Switch has been rushed out. It shouldve come out Christmas 2017 with an incredibly strong launch lineup and online thats actually fully fuctioning. Instead its an incredibly expensive beta on its release.

£280 with no games is far too expensive. Theres no point comparing the Switch release to the PS4/Xbone release because thats nearly 4 years ago. In 2017 you can buy a 500gig Xbox One S with two Minecraft games for £199. PS4 equivelant is like £220 and an existing games library on both those consoles.

Nintendo lost its way after the Gamecube. That was my favourite console of its generation and it had superb 3rd party support. My 7 year old kid said he would rather have a PS4 than a Switch. I dont even know who the target audience is for this console. Its trying to be 2 different things, its a jack of both trades but a master of none.

Hey all! I need some launch day advice. I really want to attend the Switch launch event at the Nintendo World Store and hopefully snag a console with a copy of Zelda. My Fridays are usually free so I can afford to be outside the store from Thursday evening onward. About what time should I show up, and what can I do to make sure I get a good place in line?

If you don't have one preordered then you'll have to get there earlier than that to get a console, if it's a big store with a launch event then I would imagine that people will line up very early

Their lines are blocks long. There will be plenty of people there overnight.

Hm. I think I will head over on Thursday afternoon and if it looks like I won't have a shot at a console even then, I'll drop the idea. Chances are they'll do a Zelda LE or something silly and artificially limited down the road like they always do. Thanks :)

Foxcon leak confirmed, Tegra X2 is indeed what is in the Switch

Basically the chip is a custom TEGRA X2 now all the naysayers can be quiet. And yes, with the massive active cooling and the numericals on the chip it uses X2 as a base for the custom chip. X1 doesnt require ANY active cooling. Blam! Xbone power levels and then some!

Check their twitter page. They announce when they have new shipments like they did with the nes classic.

Again, if you expect that much power in a $300 tablet you're going to be very disappointed, it's clearly not going to reach that high.

When the Wii came out, I got to the Target at 5 in the morning and managed to get one, FWIW.

But you are the one defending Nintendo, even though they are done. It's over.

Will this have RDR2?

No?

Yeah, pass.

But will it have R2D2?

There's a frenzy today to get User IDs if you don't already have one, so I secured mine.

But here's the question:

I have a Nintendo Network ID. I have a Nintendo account and within that account, I registered a User ID.

Can someone help me straighten out why we have 3 accounts????

I'm totally confused as to what each account is used for.

3? i only had to log in once than create another. your games will now be in a cloud so if you buy a new switch because you broke the other or sold it off because there's a new exclusive edition coming out, you can re-download anything you've purchased in the e-shop.s̶o̶ ̶y̶o̶u̶ ̶d̶o̶n̶'̶t̶ ̶h̶a̶v̶e̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶r̶e̶-̶p̶u̶r̶c̶h̶a̶s̶e̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶v̶i̶r̶t̶u̶a̶l̶ ̶g̶a̶m̶e̶s̶ ̶t̶h̶a̶t̶ ̶y̶o̶u̶ ̶b̶o̶u̶g̶h̶t̶ ̶o̶n̶ ̶y̶o̶u̶r̶ ̶w̶i̶i̶ ̶u̶.̶
