Cannibal Cop - 4/10

Documentary about a police officer who lost his job because he spent his nights on the internet planning to cook and eat several women. He got fired and went to jail but the verdict got overturned. So now he lives with his mom.

Reminded me of a few guys on here.

Yeah, she installed a program to see wtf he was doing on the computer all night.

Got more than she bargained for I imagine. :panic:

Yeah it's definitely the same one I was thinking of. IIRC he was talking about bleeding her dry or something to that effect, like treating her like beef.

Yup. He went into great detail. Pretty horrifying.

The story, and the fact that he was convicted and then that was overturned, is interesting but the doc is not great.

X-Men Apocalypse - ??/10

I honestly don't know how to rate this movie. I certainly enjoyed it, just not for any of the right reasons.

If you've ever wanted to see a once-acclaimed Hollywood director create a two-and-a-half hour X-Men movie apparently aiming to be deep and serious (one scene involving Magneto is a meta-reference to both the 1985 Russian WWII movie Come And See and the biblical quote it took its name from), but instead miss completely and accidentally create a piece of gloriously inept schlock that could be a long-form episode of the '92 cartoon series (Apocalypse transforms Angel into Archangel while his other three horsemen look on, to the tune of 'Four Horsemen' by Metallica), this may be the movie for you.

Gets dragged down somewhat by Jennifer Lawrence getting altogether too much screentime and relevance as Mystique. Again.

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles - 8/10

I think this is officially my second favorite installment in the Terminator franchise after, well, Terminator.

Shame they didn't continue on with a third season.

I watch that series every year. Lena Headey is my #1 Sarah Connor. Yeah, I said it.

:lol

The living with their Mom part, the cannibal part, or both?

I'm glad you liked it! :clap The writing was simply brilliant, and I'd say it's the only entry into Terminator that's worth watching after T2.

Absolutely. I wish they could've recasted her for Genisys.

It certainly is a mess. I hated Apocalpyse in this, in both look and how he was portrayed. I didn't hate the Wolverine cameo too much, it was just poorly done. Much of the film felt hurried, but the best thing I liked in it was the young Cyclops and Jean.

That gif slays me every time :lol

I thought Lena Headey was the weakest link in the cast to be honest. I've never thought she was that great of an actress and she has the same weird mannerisms in every role she plays. She doesn't look a thing like Linda Hamilton either.

That being said, I thought Thomas Dekker was beyond perfect as a young John Connor. He's obviously got the look, but he's also got some great acting ability. If anyone ever salvages the Terminator film franchise and makes the future war film(s) properly, I'd love to see him play John in it.

He actually looks a bit like Nick Stahl, but less druggy and derpy.

I watched it when it aired and remember being very excited for it, but I lost interest half-way through. Glad I decided to revisit it.

I really enjoyed the Sarah Connor Chronicles too. I liked Lena just fine, but I thought David Austin F-ing Green was a revelation! I was SHOCKED to see how well he handled the role.

It's the only thing I've seen Brian Austin Green do that I liked him in. I was really surprised as well that he pulled it off.

I still need to see TSCC... such a huge Terminator fan and never saw it. I think I watched the pilot but didn't stick with it.

Meh, who cares about Cameron's Terminator. There's only one Terminator, and his name is... Slade Wilson/Deathstroke!

Aaaaaaanyway... Hail, Caesar! : 7/10

Twas good, I enjoyed it quite a bit, but it felt a bit too...empty? As if nothing really "happened", you know? All of the Coen films end abruptly, but this had a rather "complete" ending, which I found weird. I saw "A Serious Man" about a month back as well, and the contrast between the two of them was huge. Nevertheless, a good movie, just not a great one.

Watch it! The show's a slow burn with some episodes, but the writing is impeccable. I'm not even exaggerating when I say that it's the only Terminator entry worth a dang since T2. I remember you said you watched the Season 2 ending but didn't like it. But, it's practically left up for interpretation (with lots of fan theories), since there was never a Season 3.
