I like parts of the Crystal Skull, but the cgi, Shia swinging through the trees like tarzan kill it for me.

Harrison doesn't look bad for his age at all in recent pictures of him, I think he still has it in him for one last go as Indy. But they really need to get pre-production rolling this coming year.

Seeing how awesome Harrison did in The Force Awakens and how he still has it as Han, I got no doubt he has it in him for at least one final go as Indy.

Yeah, he had a certain energy on screen in Tfa that I did'nt quite get in indy4. Plus they keep calling him old in the script.
I really want him to do indy 5, lets see what happens after Tfa hype dies down

He really did bring his a-game to TFA.

I watched Raiders a couple of days ago. That movie is brilliant!

This may be blasphemy.... and I have to say up front.. I am an absolutely huge Indy fan... Just watched TFA too... and did love it.. yes Harrison was awesome... but I would actually be all over a reboot... taking Indy back to the 30's... I was actually excited about the initial murmurs about Bradley Cooper being a possibility.. (which was later squashed) But I could have completely been on board with that.. Chris Pratt.. I dunno... that was the leading horse in the rumor mill.. But I want to see a gritty more aggressive Indy like in ROTLA... if Harrison comes back it just won't have the same, shooting an arab thug in the head, or gunning down the swordsman feel.... I think a new actor could bring it back though... the more cheeky, frivolous these characters get the less I enjoy them..

Lucas fancy's himself a funny guy....Maybe to a 6 year old he's a riot.

But all his recent attempts at humor come across very childish and/or low brow. We do not need fart jokes in Indy movies.

I'm hopeful TFA's success will get interest going in Indy 5 and it officially goes into production this coming year.

I agree for the most part. But I would go back to a younger Indy (very late teens/early 20s) just to make the transition to a new actor playing Indy more acceptable. For the record I don't think Cooper (too "pretty") or Pratt (can't act serious) are right for the role. But like you mentioned, I think the key is to bring back the grittier tone of Raiders and tone down the humor of the other 3. There was humor in Raiders, but it was used more sparingly, was more character-based (less slapstick-y and goofy), and was used to much better effect--truly relieving the tension of the moment like it was done when he killed the swordsman, or the snakes comment, or just seeing the terror in his face when he was being chased by the Hovitos and yelling for Jaques to start the plane.

I can see Pratt doing the adventurous Indy but have a harder time seeing him as a university professor.
