What kind of world do we live in, that a user likes Rise of Sky Walker over Casino Royale... This Man needs an ENEMA!!!

Now I will say this... TROS could very well fall off this list in the future.. I dont know.. Right now.. I have seen it 4 times and films on my list have to be seen at least 3 or more by me, and right now I still love it.

No film is on my list that I have only seen once.. My God TROS might be in my top 10 if I did that :lol

Down the road it could loose its appeal. I will readily admit that. But for now I still love it and I am grateful to it as it got me back into the SW saga after 3 bad PT and 2 bad ST movies.

Anyways.. I highlighted Se7en.. Because Damn it, I forgot that one also. :lol

Also there a lot of great films on that list. Some came very close to making mine.

So I shouldn?t post my top 10,000 list.

What this issue.. I have The Phantom.. Oh wait ... I have Revenge of th... Oh wait..

Besides Ducky.. How can I take you seriously when I know you have not seen a huge amount of films on that list ;)

Films I watched from start to finish in one sitting are in bold. Have seen most of them. Others were so bad I couldn't make it through or I just have no interest in them. Anything before the 80s is most likely a pass since I can't stand em.

So I made another top 99 list.. I did this once before.. I need to look it up to see what has changed. I know a big change was Empire slipping from number 3 to 4 giving way to Die Hard. Maybe its the season :)

I found it hard to figure out where to put Marvel films because they feel more like part of a series instead of individual films.. probably why my favs got clumped together.

This is a list of my fav films not necessarily what I think are the best movies ever made. I am sure there is one or two that i missed and I bet if I do this list in another couple of years some films might drop off.

Anyways... I dare any of you to do the same.

Best way to do it is divide your best films by genre then rank them out of 5 starts and then start adding them to your list as you see fit.

There was one film I saw in theaters that I thought after watching it might take over JAWS as number 1... And I forgot to put it on my list :lol

Jurassic Park now at #28

Now it is not even in my top 10 now.. But back when I saw it the first time, like everyone else, I was blown away.

Still love it and its a 5 star all time classic.

As for any other film taking its place. IDK man.. I doubt it. I mean I really think JAWS is perfect. I want to live in Amity :lol

It hits all the right spots for me.

Its flawless.

Besides have you seen my room?? :lol :lol

IDK, where's the Jaws 3-D stuff? Everyone knows it's a vastly superior film. :chase

Here's my current Top 30, based on a combination of love and rewatchability. Unsurprisingly it is largely dominated by SW, LOTR, early Cameron and Hayao Miyazaki.

1. The Empire Strikes Back
2. Star Wars
3. ALIENS
4. The Fellowship of the Ring
5. The Return of the King
6. The Rise of Skywalker
7. Rogue One
8. The Two Towers
9. Return of the Jedi
10. Princess Mononoke
11. The Terminator
12. Spirited Away
13. The Force Awakens
14. The Last Jedi
15. RoboCop
16. Captain America: The First Avenger
17. Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind
18. ALIEN
19. The Matrix
20. Die Hard
21. Alita: Battle Angel
22. E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial
23. Conan the Barbarian
24. Solo
25. The Phantom Menace
26. Attack of the Clones
27. Revenge of the Sith
28. Top Gun
29. Bullet in the Head (John Woo not Stallone)
30. Howl's Moving Castle

I was tempted to do what JAWS did and comprise a list of 10/10's and then go from there (which would put such greats as JAWS, Raiders, and so forth on the list) but they just don't have the combination of love and rewatchability as these others do. And yes as much as I complain about the PT I do revisit them much more then many vastly superior films so clearly they've resonated well enough even if it's for no other reason than being George Lucas SW films, lol.

We'll see how long Alita and the ST stays up there. I can't get enough of those films right now but as always the passage of time will reveal that which stays and that which doesn't.

I found it very interesting that as epic as the one-two punch of IW/EG was (and much of the MCU in fact) I really haven't watched much Marvel at all since EG came out. Maybe I just needed a break after 23 films or maybe those just can't match my other faves.

I guess quality has nothing to do with favoritism, which explains some of the choices on that list. Some great movies feel like a chore to get through or you have to be in the right mood to watch them. However, a favorite movie is like chocolate pudding. There's always room for chocolate pudding. :D

Exactly. The Top 3 were super easy. And I'm guessing that once I revisit the full LOTR on 4K in a couple weeks that their place toward the top will be reaffirmed as well.

The rest were a constant circle of second guessing based on what "should" be ranked where vs. what I actually repeatedly watch, lol.

My favorites list would look ridiculous if I'm honest probably. :lol

I know right, lol.

I've seen Kingsman: The Secret Service more times than any Nolan or MCU film. :chase

Yep, Cap:TFA obviously isn't on the same level as Logan or BB but I wasn't making a generic list of "best" genre films, just the ones I like the most.

I told you before that I probably like the PT more than you do, lol. They should probably be higher but I just couldn't bring myself to do it. :lol I definitely watch them way more than Conan, E.T., Matrix, Die Hard, RoboCop, and ALIEN.

For the record
My ratings system is based on love and rewatchability

5 star is all time classic
4 great

Nothing else matters as there is nothing less then 4 star on my list :)

I?ll have to take a better look at your list after the raiders game

Films I watched from start to finish in one sitting are in bold. Have seen most of them. Others were so bad I couldn't make it through or I just have no interest in them. Anything before the 80s is most likely a pass since I can't stand em.

Dude other then TROS what film on that list is so bad you could not finish it?

So many great films on that list you are missing..

How old are you again?? Not being a **** I mean I get the whole "older films just don't work for me" but man

But The Exorcist, JAWS, Pulp Fiction, Goodfellas?? My head is going to explode..

Stop watching AOTC and give some real films a shot :)

You have a great setup. Looks awesome

Thanks brother!

This is all I have left of a SW collection.. Basically sold all action figures and other stuff when I got into this hobby. I do believe you have the IS Vader also :rock

Ok I get the rewatchability part.. I mean that is how a film I love gets t be an all time classic 10/10

But you have the PT on this list.. And while I find them rewatchable because.. Well SW.. You have that whole Love thing you mentioned in there also..

So either you are cheating on me with the PT or you have to rethink you list

:lol :lol :lol

Nice list.. I erased the ones that were on my list also. You have a total of 65 different ones then I do

I thought about putting a Bruce Lee film on my list but honestly.. I just skip to the fight scenes anymore. :lol

Groundhog day almost made my list.

I think this is my 100

Most epic room eva!

And I agree about Jaws. Its not my Top movie of all time... but its always in my Top 3. Of my Top 3, its the best made film. But its better than most films.

BTW JAWS, top shelf, right side, Bruce eating Quint resin kit -- I have that same model but I had to make my own shark because the one that came with the kit sucked... where did you get that shark to eat Quint? It looks great!!!
