Getting a return on mine. Shipping him back tomorrow. We'll see what happens. Hope I don't get a worse one back.

That is truly a slap in the face to any collector. How could that figure leave the factory in that condition - when the damage on the chest symbol is so ####ing obvious? I have a hard time believing that could have happened in transit: that's got to be a basic QC issue.

Sideshow really sucks. Sorry that happened to you, Mattingly. :(

Thanks - already initiated the return waiting for the RMA. It's a shame because I picked up the bat signal and the 66 robin. Was going to swap in a widow head and Luke's goggles on the robin and go for a miller esque dark knight display. May just have to wait for the HT Affleck now [emoji53]

I went and looked at this figure at a local store last night. I really like the last released blue Batman and was hoping this would just be a black version...but I was really disappointed. I agree with everyone else, if you are going to pay $200+ for a 1/6th figure it needs to be $200 quality.

I was really wanting to add this to my collection but with the price and the blah paint jobs and the material used for the suit, I really couldn't justify spending that much. Really was hoping this was just a color change and a few new head sculpts from the previous Bats.

So, does anyone have a good feedback regarding this figure? The very first impressions and pics seemed to bode well and suddenly this is only disappointment, problems and complaints. I can't see nor feel any difference in finish or material on the (rare) pictures and video reviews, so I'm a bit confused now.

I have it on preorder, so any positive experience with this guy would be welcome. ;)

It's mainly a quality control thing. If it wasn't for the shoddy hips on mine, I would think it was at least worth the discounted price I got it for. The biggest disappointment is the cape, which is made from a different material than the last release and doesn't pose as well. I'm sure you can get it to where you want it though, it would just take more futzing.

What sentry said.

It's not a bad figure at all. It's just a bad figure considering what you get and what you paid for. If you can get one for discounted price, then go for it. But at full price? Pure theft! Quality wise, it shouldn't be more than $120... And I'm being quite generous here!

put it this way. After Superman and now the poor QC on this Batman I'm seriously thinking about pulling out of my GL pre order, NRD or not. With Superman i went ahead because i couldn't believe that he would be 'that' bad in hand-unfortunately he was and now I'm stuck with him. I haven't found a single pose i am happy with for him. Now this Batman, he looks fine, i can even live with the cape but the figure is very difficult to pose because he has the hips of a rag doll. Harley quinn looks fantastic but is disintegrating as i speak and I'm scared to even look at cat woman. At this point only a bronze age version of Batman will pull me back in. I intended to be all in on this line but it appears that SSC is only half assed in? no new solicits and disappointing final product.

You better cancel GL. At that price for him you can't expect him to be better. Even if he is as good as Gotham knight bats, you will be even more disappointed because of the over 200.00 price point. That's why I am waiting for big price drops for both, even with punisher. I was disappointed with dead pool even, and no way paying retail for Luke xwing. Seems ssc is just making poor quality to cause poor sales and use us as an excuse on why it got out if the 1/6 market. There last few releases have been questionable as far as qc , packaging, and material.

It's a shame too because their 1/6 line would be extremely popular if they changed one of two things. Either drop the price to reflect the quality they are producing, or up the quality to make the price justifiable. They are the only company releasing 1/6 comic figures from both DC and Marvel, which is a dream. If the line didn't have so many issues, I'd be in it for all of my favorites (which is a lot). The fact that they don't announce new ones though makes me worried. Where's Robin and Batgirl? Where's Dr. Doom, Red Skull and Cap? Where's The Flash, Reverse Flash, And Captain Cold? There's 8 figures that, if priced or done right, would sell like hot cakes. I'd get them all for sure, especially villains. They used to pump out GI joe figures like there was no tomorrow. The R&D can't be that difficult, they've had years of experience, they should have it down by now and have a factory that can keep to spec. Hot toys can do it.

Thanks for the feedbacks. I'm not worried about the cape. I've led all Hot Toys' Bat-capes exactly where I wanted and they were a pain.

Anyway, I'll see it in person as I am not cancelling this one. But it might well be my last SSC figure, even though I like their Deadpool and Scout trooper. When I see what price point they've reached with Punisher, I doubt they'll be able to produce good enough figures for me to buy in the future.

I have the feeling Sideshow's losing control. As if they were trying to make for bad sales by raising prices, which in turn results in worse sales and so on. I wish they would realise their artistic direction might be the cause instead and rethink it all over. Go classic, less is more, that kind of things.

Edit: totally agree with Sentry's post above. :goodpost:

I don't know who is running the show at SSC lately, but they should be fired. They are not the company I use to know. Customer service is fine, but when you are producing over priced sub par products, it only ends one way.

Too bad it ends bad for us collectors. They have the name recognition and maybe they feel they can put out inferior products and we will still buy them.

I got a message from our SSC dealer informing me that my Gotham Knight is ready for store pick-up. Funny thing is I didn't PO this figure, so I asked them to check their records.

That error made me curious to come here and check what's up with Gotham Knight owners though, and what a surprise. It's sad to see these negative feedback coming from those who own both versions. I too have started to collect less given the prices of the latest releases (backed up by the 5-year low of our currency against the US$), and it's sad when you see valid testimonies that the price hike is not worth it.

Yes, there are so many things to collect and the price have risen so high that I've decided I would pass on some lines, Star Wars being one. Too many figs means too many to spend and on figs that aren't spot on....

Likewise, this fig is most likely my last SSC fig, ever...

Same here. I'm not up in arms about this figure, but I think this is the first one where I really regret the price point. It's just not worth it. Unless SSC really turns it around, this is my last one too. Same with Star Wars. I'm really debating Vader, because he's one of my favorite characters of all time, but he's so expensive. It's a dream line too, that original lineup. If it wasn't for the price, I'd be getting every single one from the original trilogy.

Edit: that DC collectibles animated series line however, is really on point. Priced right, good quality figures (with the occasional wonky paint job, but it's 1:12 and sub $30, sometimes sub $20) and they are doing the entire line, minor characters and all. It's really fun. And they listen to the fans, they actually fixed some early releases that are sub par. When's the last time SSC actually admitted a misstep, much less corrected it?

Sideshow really dropped the ball on this line. I remember how excited everyone was a couple of years ago. It started off well with Joker, Harley and Catwoman but poor design choices, poor QC and rising prices have all but killed it. Sorry but those headsculpts on the Batman's are terrible compared to the custom Sosa sculpt. Lets not even start on how bad the Superman came out and nothing will save Green Lantern.

They will do the same to the Marvel line, mark my words. They don't listen to the fans. It's as if they don't care. All they had to do was high quality 1/6 comic accurate figures. Too bad.

Can get this guy for $170 shipped....is he worth it? Didn't get the blue because I like the black/gray better, but all the bad reviews have me rethinking my choice?
