NECA: Alien Movie Franchise Figures

What are you guys expecting from a 7' inch figure? It's looks fine for the scale and as good...or bad as any of their other figures

I guess I was spoiled by their Dutch sculpt

Sometimes it can be got pretty damn good even at this scale. Both Hudson sculpts are nailed IMO. Hicks is reasonably there and I'm not sure Bishop could be any better than it is, sure looks like Lance Henrikson to me. So it's not impossible to get a genuinely good likeness at this size.

That said, these days I'm more willing to accept it when they don't quite manage it. This is like Kyle Reese - doesn't look like him if you focus in on the face but look at the figure overall and it's clear who they were going for. Good enough if the alternative is nothing at all.

Maybe women are more difficult to sculpt because they have softer facial features?

I think this is the best pic so far.

It looks better than the Alien Ripley, imo.

Although, it doesn't look that bad either

I think the way the eyes are painted are throwing the likeness off.

Yeah judging by the Aliens pic I would have shaved a bit off the top of her hair. It goes up too high. Even just putting my finger over the excess on top shows the improvement.

I see that the Half-a-Bishop figure comes with an open egg. Now I'm even more annoyed about the half and half (open/closed) ratio in the separate egg pack release. If I was building a hive (or the egg chamber from the first film) I wouldn't want the majority of the eggs to be open

I think thy were going for this look with the high hair.

But her hair was pretty wet towards the end of the film, and the figure doesn't show that. They did the same with the Rambo 2 figure, they gave them dry looking hair. Maybe the wet hair look is not easy to sculpt.

Found the same to my disappointment. That went fast. I ordered the full set but I don't particularly want the aliens either, certainly not the red one. Also I need 2 Ripleys, one for the Loader and one with the guns. I guess that may be why she sold out...

Sorry for the noob question, but these upcoming black and red Aliens....are they a new sculpt or is this the ALIENS sculpt that debuted a year or so ago being used in different colors?

There'd be no reason to resculpt so probably the latter.

both ripley's are for preorder for cheap on TRU.com just ordered mine.

still going to hunt in person though, i never have a problem finding any neca on staten island, i dont any other collectors collect here, my shelves always stay full. the wwe section is the opposite though.
