Should this go up for PO today?

Regardless of the movie suit inaccuracies that appear in the prototype shots, the fact remains that this is a kick-ass Spider-Man. The comic stylized suit will look great with my other Spidey's.

I though it would, as far as the figure itself I agree, its a fantastic looking spiderman and any minor issue should be corrected from the prototype. Very much looking forward to this release!

If I get this ill just buy the old Garfield sculpt.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS244 - Amazing Spider-Man 2 - Spider-Man Figure [Specs + Pic]

The red parts remind of the spider man 3 medicom suit. Why could they not make it look like thier Spiderman 3 figure? Or even use whatever material they used for thier TASM figure. Seems like a step backward.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS244 - Amazing Spider-Man 2 - Spider-Man Figure [Specs + Pic]

I already have the DX-12, and as much as I want the armory, it would be cheaper to kitbash a Wayne, and pick up the bootleg armory. Plus a while back HT showed the armory case from TDKR(the clear one) and I would rather get that one.
I might do the same as well, not sure what I'll do about Alfred though.

Man, I hate inaccuracies :lol. I can't see the comparison to the Medi figs aside from the texture of the fabric but this is leaps and bounds better than any Medi Spidey IMO. Maybe not accurate but it's hard to say it's not up to HT standard. The extras are cool as hell. Finally some options for a Spidey fig...but...no firefighter hat???

I do hope that they make improvements or this grows on me

Anyone remember the SM3 promo shots? And then what we got? One on the only reasons I have faith that some good tweaks are gonna be made by release. I really hope they nix the rubber and roll with the satin/spandex for the red parts. I can live without it since Im jonesin for a new Spiderman figure but HT will grab waaaaaay more customers if they fix that ****. Fingers crossed.

That's back when they gave a s__t :lol. That's before the hobby grew to today's popularity and collectors were making it rain on Howard & co. Now it seems more common for a release to lose points than gain form proto to production. I'm keeping my fingers crossed too because I was really looking forward to this, but I'm hoping for the best and expecting the worst

How often does this happen really? I mean aside from a few finicky people who never seem satisfied by anything I think most Hot Toys releases are pretty good. They might have an occasional miss but that certainly doesn't equate to them not caring because they've grown as a company. On the contrary it seems that they do care and put a lot of passion into their projects but certain things just turn out better than others.

They really knocked it out of the park with mos and dx 13(bd terminator)
I think their ed 209 is unreal, looks like a movie puppet/prop

This spidey looks good, I don't think the suit is vinyl, just reflective

Spidey still not up for pre order. Wondering what the price for this will be since there's no headsculpt.

I'm picky and I always like to see improvements but don't get me wrong; I think that HT makes a great product (lord knows I have plenty of them). I would say that 70% of their stuff over the last year or so takes a hit from proto to production; more of a hit than previous years. There are the few occasions that they actually were vastly improved and look completely different from the protos (SP3 Spidey, AV Thor, DX10, BD MK VII Stark sculpt; I'm forgetting a few others)

I'm hoping he's between $200 and $220. That's about where I want to be to consider a purchase. I like the overall look of the figure and would like a Spidey to add to my collection. The lack of the Garfield sculpt is a tad bit disappointing but not a deal breaker for me since I likely wouldn't display it that way very often anyways.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS244 - Amazing Spider-Man 2 - Spider-Man Figure [Specs + Pic]

I am pleased that the movie company ditched that first Spidey suit. I couldn't like it, and didn't get the last Spidey figure. This one looks to have a great design, but, I really don't like that plastic type of costume material. When I picked up Batman and Robin last week, my toy store guy wanted to sell me Supes. I can't do it. Those plastic suits just don't cut it for me. My two Spiderman 3 figures are awesome, and can posed in any way you can imagine, and the suits always look good. In these proto shots it's wrinkly in just about every shot. A pity really, but I know that this costume material is popular among some people, and I do hope that they get to enjoy it. If, if I get this, he could stand in a basic pose, but that's not the sort of thing you really want from a Spidey action figure.

:exactly:

This is pretty much exactly how I feel. He needs to come in under $220 for me to really consider getting it. Most likely, I can see me waiting until in hand pics start trickling out before I make my final decision on this guy.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS244 - Amazing Spider-Man 2 - Spider-Man Figure [Specs + Pic]

They need to fix the red material as the movie suit looks awesome......

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS244 - Amazing Spider-Man 2 - Spider-Man Figure [Specs + Pic]

You can actually see Garfield's eye in that pic on the right.

The head looks like some sort of helmet and the contours of his head are actually fake. His head is buried deep inside that mask.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS244 - Amazing Spider-Man 2 - Spider-Man Figure [Specs + Pic]

If anything, Centrocal's pics made me see how close HT got it. I get that the materials are obviously different but the colors are pretty damn close. They captured the shape of the head perfectly. Can't say the same for the previous one.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS244 - Amazing Spider-Man 2 - Spider-Man Figure [Specs + Pic]

Red vinal looks like cheap crap. They went backwards.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS244 - Amazing Spider-Man 2 - Spider-Man Figure [Specs + Pic]

Needs more muscle tone, fabric switch over the red vinyl and lose that friggin neck seam!!
