Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

That's awesome! :clap:clap:clap:clap

I would never have thought about doing this! Looks great! :)

Thanks. I had a spare curl after doing a Clark Kent for my Brother.
It's only blu tacked on, but i think this look is good with that sculpt.
I also made a prototype "wall"(Seen in the background of the last couple of images).
I am thinking of doing a larger one with a hole in the middle and him having busted though.

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

The stock fabric is a bit stiff and lighter, the custom cape is darker red as shown in the movie, and much heavier fabric for natural drape appearance.

Must be quite a chore to undo all of the stitching and restitching. I don't have the seamstress skills for that so i guess mine is staying as is.

So are you making some custom capes for this guy or was this just one for yourself?

I got enough fabric to make 15 capes for now.

What about the stitch that holds the cape to the back of the figure?

The stitches in the rear was design to hold the stock cape since it doesn't drape very well. Its not necessary with my cape.

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

Got him in today. Looooove him. Well worth the wait. He's my favorite Hot Toys figure by far now.

So what's the verdict on the stand? Are people not using it because it leaves marks on his costume??

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

Any updates on the waist huggers damaging his suit?

Edit: Also really tired of getting emails from SSC that is not my shipping notice lol

Just got mine out of the box.

And wow he actually is a GIANT. I have no issue with it but he easily stands shoulder to chin beside my dx 12.

When I get mine on the 21st I'll be fine he is taller than most my others... I'm cool with someone who isn't HUMAN being taller than HUMANS.

That's a weird way to look at it. Superman obviously appears HUMAN so it makes sense for him to be in scale with other HUMANS.

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

In the movie, he wasn't noticeably taller than anyone else. This seems like a rather sharp oversight on HT part, even with all the inaccurate scales that 1/6 ends up getting. I've been contemplating this figure for a while now, and for me at least, this is enough of a discrepancy where I don't really want it.

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

I think not getting this just because of the height problem is crazy. If the height is that much of an issue. Just display it as a stand alone piece. :dunno

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

Considering the number of 1/6 I have displayed, it does bother me as it's really noticeable. Maybe if I was a super fan of the movie, or had very very few 1/6 figs, it would be far less of a visual issue for me. I'm not really a big fan of Supes anyways.
