It's been in the shops here for a couple of days. I watched the extras on the 2d blu-ray. I was surprised by a few things. 1. How few extras there are on the straight Blu-ray. 2. I thought I had seen all the deleted scenes online, but I hadn't. 3. How bad some of the acting is on the deleted scenes. I mean, now I think the film is full of holes because Scott had to delete chunks of it becaus of performance.

Theron has an absolute classic line in there though. I spat my beer out laughing at it. And the CG Fairfield scene is awesome, Scott was crazy to lose it.

That 'Honest Trailer' was ****ing brilliant. My reaction to it is different than say the one he did for the Avengers. I thought the Avengers was a superb film, never had any doubt about it, and I enjoyed the Honest Trailer for it. I thought it was just a bit of fun, didn't take it as a serious attack on the film as others seemed to.

Have to say though, with the Prometheus one, not only did I agree with every word but the nitpicks totally and utterly rang true for me to the extent of actively bothering me. Maybe the guy doing these trailers is just having a little laugh, but for me, in this case, he really touched on why this film IMO....is a bit crap. Sorry. Good moments like the space jockey chair coming up out of the floor, a good musical theme but otherwise....

Yeah agree dev, the flick is hit and miss for real - first half hits second half is a big miss.

:1-1:

I won't keep on about it, I'll just say at this moment its still just Alien - Alien 3 for me as part of my own personal canon.

I will however watch any sequel to this film in the hopes something may yet be salvaged.

Looking at this, i'm kind of glad we ended up with the head we did, it's more recognizeable as Fifield, where as this one looks more like some random creature crawled into the suit instead.

I like what they did with Fifield, i like the idea of someone's body being repurposed by some parasite or ooze or whatever, but for me it only works if features of the original body still persist, so there's just not enough fifield in this old design.

Gravity Falls ftw!
