Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Where's Kara with his W R O N G picture when you need him.

Fact. No 1/6 scale sculpt can be 100%.

Opinion. That's an amazing Chris Reeve likeness.

Hyperbole. That Chris Reeve likeness is 100%.

You're using the exaggeration to emphasize your point of something that shouldn't be taken literally.

I think you have your definitionof hyperbole not quite right. Hyperbole infers a gross exaggeration or misrepresentation. To say a head sculpt is 100% is neither of those things. It is also NOT a fact that no head sculpt can be 100% on. Is there a law of physics somewhere which decrees this to be so? You can argue that you are right, but you veer so far into issues of minutia that your point is moot anyway. If a tree falls in a forest with no one else around to hear, does it make a sound? Similarly if a person thinks a sculpt is 100% dead on, then for them it is.

You can't evangelize your opinion as fact when it, in fact, is not.

:)

Nothing's mixed up. Hyperbole is to exaggerate to emphasize. It is an absolute fact that a head sculpt can not be 100%. I'm not really sure how you can argue that. You know what is 100%? The one and only Christopher Reeve. That's it. There is not another 100% Christopher Reeve likeness anywhere. He had it, he died with it. A 1/6 sculpture can factually not be 100% Christopher Reeve. To say that it is. Well that's just 100% hyperbole.

Looks as if we have someone trying to be a bossy know it all tell folks what their opinion means. :lol If folks would just put wonderful folks like that on ignore it wouldn't be a problem. (no pix I'm not talking about you) :lol

The figure looks great. Its not 100% dead on but the likeness is 97% there and I couldn't really start to pick thins out to be honest. I will agree with Kara its one of the top figures I've seen out of the gate at least ever. Just something about it.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Looks like it's not going to be a DX unfortunately -so no Clark, yet. But that does not deter me from ordering this asap.

A bonus green crystal would be a great accessory to add.

Since this was initially supposed to be a DX figure, I would think a DX figure of Supes down the line is inevitable at all.

DX or not, I'm getting this and any future Reeve Superman releases.

Similar, yes. 100% accurate, no. Some likeness, yes. The best HT can do, no.

Buying, no. Waiting for next wave, yes.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Just got my PO in with OSB, I didn't realise he had him up so fast, normally a week after pictures but he's all ready sold one pallet of the three he's ordered in all ready. Looks like Supes is going to sell out quick, I wonder how many there planning on making, I hope HT don't out stretch there selves & make too many & we end up getting QC problems. Shouldn't happen but this is going to be the jewel in my collection so I want him looking perfect but now all I want is Captain America & the Batman'89 figures & then I'm done for awhile :)

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Can a Mod please change the name of this thread to: Hyperbole: What does it mean? A discussion Thanks! :wave

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Some of those flight poses are great, it's just sad there wont be any way to actually display him that way with that flight stand...

I also think they should make the clamp on the stand clear like the rest of it.

Looks better and better the more pics we see...

I sure hope when we see the Keaton Batman he will look this good.

M.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Let me be the first to say, Wheres "89 Batman?!?! EPIC FAIL HOT TOYS!!! lol, just kidding. Other than the "89 batman, which was the first real superhero movie from my childhood, this is my most anticipated figure, and it couldn't be better. I'm toying with the idea of making a few special edition cases for it.

do it! When I saw this figure, I thought of you for a case. This figure deserves to be incased
