Don't forget this Iron Man is taking from the Donut scene which took place straight after the fight with Rhodey therefore it's going to have some scuff marks.

A few months ago I could've bought Mk 1, mk 2 AND mk 3 Iron Mans for 700 bucks! Damn. Shouldve bit on that. Now I have to get them at 3x price.

Vodoun, this is awesome, man.
Do you have it in a bigger version, like 1280 width, or so?!

1080. Easier to scale down than scale up.

Cause they suck!!!

Well the right side ones do for me but not the left, seems to be an issue with quite a few here on the boards. manufacturing error from HT.

I dont' ever pose mine with them open so I may use some type of adhessive that is easily removable in the future without damaging in case I ever need to open them.

Left flaps for me as well......

Turn your head left and cough please :lol

I kinda like the small scuffs. Its more "realistic." You can't imagine that an armor suit used in combat will be in perfect shape. I really like it overall.

Read the thread.

This has been asked/answered dozens of time.

Along with the flaps.

Along with the countermeasures.

Along with the ground punch.

Along with the etc.

I have been reading the thread for many months now. I must of missed that part. At least I didn't ask after someone had just asked and been answered several times right before. You really don't have to be such a ****** though. And thanks to all that gave me a quick response. I was really worried considering AE is sold out now. The funny thing is I contacted them anyway, and they said they were contacting Sideshow for a replacement. I guess I should tell them to cancel.

I guess it's more realistic, but I was concerned that it may lead to the paint flaking off or chipping more.

If it was really a paint chip then I can see being worried that it could get worse. In this case since it was made that way I don't think you will have to worry about that. The MK III BD has far more of the fake chipping and they never got worse. Instead the red rubber paint just fades. :lol

I got mine and I had a little time to get him out of the box and take a few quick photos.

Final spot for now....

I can't really say any more than what's already been said. On my particular figure both flaps are having a hard time staying in place and I'm not even going to mess with the calf flaps.

You just know you opened something awesome the moment that sleeve comes off. A true 1/6 work of art with very few shortcomings!

As I missed out on, and can't really afford to go back and buy, the other armors I think this one will scratch my IM itch and represent IM beautifully in my collection! It's going to be hard to resist the V and VI!

Very nice, Chigger! Loving the Shrek statue.

Shame the American flag can't stay behind him.

Very nice pics! Yeah, if this is the only Iron Man figure folks are gonna get its a good one thats for damn sure.

It's not a manufacturing defect. Hot Toys chose to use sheet aluminum so that there would actually be metal parts on the figure. Idea-wise, it's wonderful. In practice, not so much.

Just fiddle with the metal. The shape is already 'bowed' so just give it a little push. It is absolutely possible to make them flush without tac, but you will have to do it again each time you open them.

Generally speaking, most products of any kind last as long as they are cared for. Manhandling this figure or any other will have less than satisfactory results.

I have tried bowing the metal for an hour now and it still wont stay down so I guess I will try the tac route....

Now I have a real problem. I took him out the package and he is missing the plasic piece that covers the left knee.:gah: I really hope I can get a replacement.:monkey2

I was able to get the right flap to stay fairly close to his back and now it is nearly flush with the body.

The problem is, when you try to close the flap, the metal foil/spoiler touches iron man's back right at the top closest to the hinge. Any attempts at closing it and the metal foil acts like a spring and pushes back outward.

The solution is to carefully bend the foil a little more, just the part that touches his back (again, only the area closest to the hinge). The metal foil has to follow the contour of his back because it sits right on its surface. The red flap will then close down over it, sitting almost flush with the rest of his back.

Note: I didn't touch the left side because it stays close enough for me.

And, no, I didn't use any glue, tape, or special fx green screen. :)
