looks better than the other pics ive seen too. Hopefully that means the mark 3 will be better. Otherwise i can only imagine the prob they will have when they get returned. :duh

This is your only warning:

Dead On Arrival !

This POS is the by far the worst piece that I have recieved in my time dealing w/ Sideshow. Words cannot really describe how shody & off the mark this "prop replica" is. I just received mine & there is truly no saving grace to the piece, practically everything is a mess......it's that bad. I'll elaborate more in a bit.
In the meantime you have been warned: Cancell now before it's too late.

well, i cancelled my mark 2 but its too late for the mark 3 as the retailer i ordered from do not take cancellations. Crossing my fingers. :angelsmil

and some more...

Aren't those dimples supposed to be symmetrical? If so, the person must have their eyes closed, be looking the other way, be drunk, or all three when stamping them. This is even worse that I expected. Don't even bother polishing it.

I heard about this from a prop builder and man I'm sorry for the poor souls who bought this. Museum Replicas/Windlass Studios/Atlanta Cutlery Corp. should just stick with swords and weapons. As much as they think that their India factory is better than the Chinese their wrong and this just proves it.

Better? Yes. $424 better absolutely not. If these were about half that price I'd probably get them.

Just out of curiosity, how many are still on order for the mk 3?

1. tnaig001
2.?

As for the grease issue, MRL ships most of their products with a special oil coating to protect them against rust in transit on the water.

Keep in mind they aren't made out of stainless steel, so you have to be careful and watch out for rust, corrosion.

The Modern Cap Shield is great, the 1940s version, I haven't seen one yet without some damage somewhere on it.....and scuffing.

Man... don't know if I should cancel the mark II... . After what I've read here... . It looks ok, but for $425, ok is not good enough, is it? And, no light up feature?? Sloppy finishing off... I don't know. I though I had a winner on order, but now i seriously doubt that. If someone would PLEASE post more pictures of the Mark II! I Sincerely hope I get a processing mail from SSC BEFORE they charge me for this.

guys do you think i should forfeit my deposit on the mk 3 and cancel it as well? It works out to about $130 :monkey2

Cancelled. It's just not worth $400+ to me. And I think the two i saw go on Ebay for $500-$700 will stay an exception. I mean, pay $700, and then get something of this kinda quality in hands? Would be a chock to me.

You'll see people buy them at high prices on eBay because they are not in wide circulation yet but soon enough they'll be going for around $250 and lower and people will be out a nice sum of cash.

Are you talking abt the mk2? What abt the mk 3? Would you advise me to cancel it even if it means losing the $130 deposit?

Probably not worth it to give up your deposit, just turn around and resell it as soon as you get it.

The Mark 02 is the only wildcard because its an exclusive to one site which means that'll be a selling mark for a while.

Here is my take on it. The MR/WS Iron Man Comic Mark I helmets retailed for $349.99 (Silver) and $399.99 (Gold) respectively. I bought my Gold for $160 from a retailer site (Statue Toys) and just got my Silver last week for $150 shipped. That is a drastic drop of a little over 60% and those are excellently done. If the Mark 03 which is retailing at $424.99 takes the same drop you're looking at about $280 helmets and lower.

My advice is if you know you won't like it, get it and flip to try and recoup your funds while the Iron Man kick is still there. If you wait too long though especially in this economy you'll probably lose a lot more than $130 trying to unload it. Like I said, I would buy them around $250 and history has shown that I will own them at that price if I just wait a few months.
