I'm so glad Mando s1&2 had an actual arc, with interesting characters and cool little adventures. I couldn't care less about the nonsensical Mandalorian BS that followed
You can thank Kathleen and Filoni for all that. Favreau's original pitch was a Boba Fett movie/show (Movie actually I think based on how season 1 seemed to be a movie script stretched out into a tv show with lots of filler). Meanwhile Filoni was pitching a project about Mandalorian culture. Kathleen had them combine their projects. Boba became Din, IG88 became IG11 etc etc etc.

Meanwhile the actual Boba Fett had to be changed into a completely different person because Din had taken his original role of badass bounty hunter (not that Din stayed that for long).

Talk about revisionist poodoo, no way OT Boba would have palled around with that Jedi baby.
Would have cashed in that bounty quick, and never looked back.

On the other hand the toad that crawled out of the Sarlacc pit, knocked out and robbed by a couple of Jawas, who threatened robo-bunny and recruited the mos-vespa squad, might have, ...so could be that's what they had in mind for Bobo. :lol

Eh. Ya never know. Boba Fett's an orphan, too.

I wonder if this is even going to get made. I can't imagine any circumstance where this movie would be worth going to the cinema to see.

LOL so much negativity. It CAN'T suck that bad with a mass team-up of Mando, Boba, and Cobb Vanth + Fennec + a Mythosaur plus maybe Bo-Katan has a meltdown if Din is made king or some *&^%.

OK, maybe it could suck:unsure: but I'd pay for the Mythosaur. Say what you will about Boba and his candy brigade, that finale was frenetic - we could even get Rasta Tusken back.

Yeah, it'll get made. Heck even Justice League made over 600 million and everyone agrees that film was put out too soon e.g. not enough character build up.

Even if it's Grogu who is inevitably the one to ride it? :lol
I did once picture an epic moment of a Mando taming and riding the Mythosaur.
Both Mando and Bo, passed it without much incident, yet they have repeatedly stressed Grogu's affinity for taming beasts.
And now that Luke (out of character at Disney again) dumped Grogu, Grogu will need to earn his place among Mandos.
Looking back at the cornball Favroni plot devices, doesn't the Mando'lord have to be some Jedi/Mando hybrid to unite them? it's likely where this (not)"epic" finally is absurdly building up to. :p

This will be Ezmo and the Spacewhales all over again.

Just sub Grogu and the Mythosaur.

That's exactly why it sounds dumb. Mando, Grogu, Boba, Cobb, Fennec, Bo Katan, Mythosaur,......those are all TV characters. I watch their dumb little stories on TV. Their drama is small scale.

Even the "retaking of Mandalore" which I thought would take YEARS and thousands of soldiers, basically took 40 minutes and a few dozen people. And all they had to "re-take" was a secret base hidden in a mountain.

There's no drama or conflict or urgency to any of those characters or their stories. It all petered out on Disney + already.

I guess this movie could be like "Serenity" was to Firefly and go for the shock value of killing off important characters, but does that make a "good" movie? I don't think so.

Not sure I think of SW in terms of "drama" a lot of the time. Sometimes. A case could be made about the ST or OT with little effort.
*Shrug* I'll be there if Favreau and Filoni can make it happen. With Disney taking a hit on its theatrical releases, there may not be funding for a
theater release.

"May the Force be with you" -- a hopeful slogan; positive; something special is watching over you; optimistic (1977)

"This is the way" -- we've given up; just go with it; join "the clan"; realist (2019)
"Reeeeeeeeey!!!!" The rallying call of both Disney sequel movie fans as well as anti Disney sequel movie critics.

I liked the series, didn’t mind Season 3 so in hindsight I’m interested enough to see the movie but not in theatres. I doubt it’ll be worth the added expense. I’ll wait for the inevitable release on D+.

Unless original script he was hired to take the baby away from the Empire... on the run with his bounty, protecting it at all costs so as not to lose his payday.

“Didn’t mind” Season 3 either, and that’s the problem. Thought the first 2 seasons were fantastic and 3 was just… unremarkable.

Disappointment with the majority of present day Hollywood seems to be the going rate these days. More blunders than successes.

I'm still saddened that the Mando Season 2 Boba wasn't later revealed to be playing both sides and working with Gideon (which would have perfectly explained how Gideon found them in the first place.)

That would have brought his character full circle to how he behaved in the Holiday Special cartoon.

I’m fine that doesn’t bother me one bit..

Filler, or - a building block season to deal with reclaiming Mandalore. IMO some good stuff like fleshing out Mando and Bo-katan's relationship; loss of Paz Vizla, etc. and some good set design - some mediocre writing and the whole disastrous I-can't-act Lizzo thing, and making Mando a purse holder and rushing the script, here and there.

Not willing to throw the towel in yet. I'd pay a lot to see Migs Mayfield back and the bros together; Cara Dune:pray: and Fennec, Grogu confronting the Dark Side/Inquisitors.

But then, I ponder a mashup with the Ahsoka crowd and writers - the unimposing Dad-bod Thrawn and Ahsoka the White standing around with her arms crossed, and Sabine trying for more than one facial expression.

*Shrug* I know I'll show up, because - SW. Whether it's the kind of movie you go rewatch dunno. Things are so bad writing-wise in Hollywood, and with Disney, figure at least I had some awesome moments in the SW universe which I didn't expect after TROS.

IMO all down to not respecting the writing and not focusing on telling a story, and casting for points instead of the part. Tho think most of Mando's casting has been pretty good. But there's only so much a skilled actor can do. I still feel bad for Ewan McGregor - he really earned his paycheck.
