Not happening. I'm pretty convinced that's a one piece sculpt, so they can't just change the hair on it, and I'm not totally convinced there's a market for another Kira. That is to say, while we know there will be a good number of collectors who will want a different Kira when this turns out to be a season 1-2 Kira like I suspect, Nanjin seems to want every character from Deep Space Nine and Voyager (aside from the characters that have shown up in Picard) to be one and done. He seems to be waffling on making Ezri and Jake, so there's no way we're getting another Kira. Plus, I've talked to Nana Visitor, and she 100% prefers the seasons 1-2 hairstyle to the softer seasons 4-6 hair styles and the much longer, assymetrical hair she had in season 7.
This is all we're going to get.
I would agree that it's her best look. I just wonder if she was made aware that it wouldn't end up looking consistent with the other DS9 figures as a result...

I'll happily settle for a Kira from any season...just so long as she isn't a weird mishmash that never existed in the show.

Not something I asked her.
My first thought is...why would she care? When it comes to approval, it's more about how they are represented as characters and people to the public than the line cohesiveness.

I just can't see any of the actors with approval power saying "I hate that look, but you're right, everyone else is in season X form."

Yeah same. I wouldn't be surprised if they're not even being shown the other figures at all.

Yeah I agree it probably wouldn't have mattered much to her. I was just wondering if it's something the Exo team or licensors might have even brought up or not.

Guess it could be worse though. Just imagine if they had to put Bashir or Dax in the early series uniform while everyone else was in FC uniforms, just because it's what the actor happened to prefer. 😄

Didn't somebody here say that they wanted to O'Brien in his early seasons uniform because his sleeves looked better rolled up than they did when he wore the later uniform? That we're getting anything resembling uniformity with the uniforms is a minor miracle.

You said Dax 🥰

Honestly, and I'm a HUGE DS9 fan, but if you guys hadn't pointed out those discrepancies on Kira I never would have noticed.

I can live it. I can live with it.

But then, I also learned to live with whatever version of the Playmates character I could track down at Walmart as a kid. Picard in Ds9 / Generations uniform, Riker in Season 2 uniform, with a GIANT Worf in First Contact uniform? Okay! At least it meant he could replace Sheriff Worf in the lineup, lol.

Though I did have fun making a webcomic with the PLaymates figures where Picard punished Worf by making him dress as a Wild West sheriff while on duty.

I was a weird kid.

We're doing our fourth rewatch since the series aired, and I noticed that Kira was so much taller than Ziyal in seasons 5 and 6 when Nana Visitor and Melanie Smith were the same height, and I thought, "Oh. Right. It's because she got the taller heels in season 4." Thanks to this thread, I know stuff like that.

Sigh, so bummed we didn't get even one DS9 cameo in Picard. I was holding out hope until the very end. 😔
There were references to Odo, and Worf obviously, but my hope would be that they will give DS9 the same treatment we got for Next Gen with another show. . .maybe unrealistic, but that would be nice. I'm sure Dax would be something else altogether at this point.

But now that you mention it, O'Brien must have been the next most important Next Gen character beyond the core crew, and he didn't show up, either.

Colm Meaney has said more than once he's done with playing the character, that said so did Patrick Stewart before they announced this show so with the right script you never know. I always enjoyed his and Alexander Siddig's work together so seeing them reunited in a DS9 connected story could be fun.

With all of the fan hype for a new follow on show set with the crew we spent most of Season 3 with, its not completely out of the question there could be opportunities to check in with characters from DS9 or Voyager, especially the latter if said series was lead by Seven.

Well, Stewart said no until they offered him the largest pay-check of his career (reportedly) :D

There were some live readings featuring Siddig and Andrew Robinson from newly written fan fiction a couple of years back, which were quite interesting. There’s always room for these stories and DS9 could certainly continue in some form.

I was being diplomatic not mentioning the money side ;)

Its a shame Andrew Robinson said not too long ago he wouldn't be interested in the makeup process at his age - an appearance on Lower Decks could be good though, I would love to see Garak back even if it was animated with Robinson providing the voice!

And Reginald Barclay, he even managed to make a cameo in First Contact.

I’d be 100% down for revisiting more characters from the 90s but this franchise’s future is up in the air.

Post-Picard, a Discovery-era Starfleet Academy was announced and a Section 31 direct to stream film. Meh. Hopefully SNW S2 carries the torch.

I appreciate what these guys are saying, and they may really think that way. . .but, it's not like people are knocking down their doors to give these guys work. If someone offers them a decent paycheck and the opportunity to get back into the limelight they may change their tune pretty quickly.

Honestly Garak isn't high on my list of characters to revisit. But it would definitely be fun to see Kira, Quark, Rom, Ezri, and Bashir again. Not to mention the station itself.
