Firstly this is absolutely one of the greatest prototypes I’ve ever seen and my goodness InArt’s list continues to terrify me. I enjoyed LOTR, but it’s not an IP I need displayed in my collection, aside from maybe Legolas. But this is so exciting for everyone who loves these movies, and furthermore, anyone into this hobby. The work they did to perfect this is to be applauded. It’s a step up on even their previous great work.

BUT secondly (and this is where I feel like I’m going a bit insane here) I feel like the prices are far better than I expected them to be. 330 shouldn’t even be a discussion. That’s a Hot Toy with shipping and taxes. For instance in Australia, Sugo listed the sculpted for 440 aud. Mace is 430 aud. This quality is above and beyond even the outstanding work I feel they’ve done with most of these last few sculpts. To me what’s most exciting beyond the likeness is the work on the sculpted hair. I’ve always felt the Joker’s sculpted hair was GOOD but not up to Hot Toys’ level just yet. I’m wrong now. This sculpted hair is jaw dropping. From afar it can look rooted. That’s an incredible job by the InArt team.

470 on the rooted is a bit more pricey for sure but the comparison I’m making when I feel like it’s a good price is to customs, as others have discussed in this thread, BUT ALSO the price they gave us for the Joker two pack, and their other rooted endeavours. I feel this is exactly in line with those, and arguably is even a better deal considering the likeness and the amount of accessories. I think 140 dollars more is worth that upgrade due to the quality that’s being shown here but that’s going to be a question to you, and whether you want that. If Aragorn is one of your absolute favourites characters and LOTR is incomparable to you, I think it’s a great deal.

Nothing is cheap when you get this deep into collecting, and pricing is always going to be subjective. Especially when you’re searching for a level of perfection with likeness and rooted hair. A very strong 2023 opening from InArt. Love to see the excitement in this thread. I cannot wait to see what they’ll do with the characters on their list that I’m personally anticipating…although my wallet isn’t complaining about the wait.

To be fair to Asmus, the exclusive version had 2 headsculpts and an 18” tall base for $300. If they decided to charge InArt’s absurd prices they’d do a much better sculpt too.

It’s an extremely good looking prototype, but they’ve still only released a tiny amount of 1 figure so far. I hope the quality is there, I hope the base bodies are very good. We’ve only seen them just stand there, for the prices they charge I want incredible range of motion; 2 handed sword poses, able to balance on one leg etc.
People are definitely overreacting that this is the finest figure to ever exist. The price seems (mostly proportionate to the apparent quality in comparison to other companies. It’s definitely not 4x the quality for 2x the price. Maybe 1.5-2x the quality.
I agree with you. I'm sticking with my Sideshow version. Such a better likeness and only cost me $60. A MUCH better value for the money.....

Justin uses ToysWonderland which is the place that at one point or another, will eventually try to screw you over, regardless if you've had good service in the passed. Just look at what they tried to pull on @Cocoboloboy recently who I believe always had good service from them prior to this incident in the Toys Wonderland thread. I would personally avoid them as I too have had a bad experience with them. They aren't an actual authorized retailer but instead get their stock "elsewhere."

Curious, why don't you want to use OSK? They're incredibly reliable place to order from unless you unfortunately had a bad experience with them. Regardless of your reasoning, there are still other reliable places to order from. Just avoid ToysWonderland at all cost. Most here will agree. The only ppl they treat well are their social media influencers

I’ve heard/read horror stories about Osk and toyswonderland on Reddit and Facebook. So I’d prefer not to use them if possible.

Wow!

I mean I was expecting it to be good but this is just phenomenal. The Joker has just released and already HT are upping their game. Hopefully InArt keep up this amazing work and HT keep responding and we all win.

What an incredible figure. If I collected LOTR my finances would be in serious danger. I don't collect LOTR and I still want him! Just fantastic.
YES!!

I feel the same way! I only collect Marvel and DC, but this figure looks so incredible, it has me very tempted to start acquiring some LOTR figures. I loved the books when I was a kid (read the Hobbit when in sixth grade in 1976 😮) and the trilogy sometime after that. I also loved the LOTR films and Aragorn is my favorite character in that trilogy.

InArt has done an amazing job here and based on the photos I think the product is more than worth the price to me. I think they are also going to knock Gandalf out of the park!!!

Yeah, sadly we have to be cautious in this hobby. But I have to say that I agree with @Gipetto0812 about OSK, I have bought several figures from them in the past and currently have three items on PO with them. I have never had anything short of a great experience dealing with OSK.

Never wanted to have an Aragorn figure until now, I am not a fan of the blonde elf so thats no interest to me however good he will look, but man this Aragorn is a must have and as others said as long as they keep this quality or really close to it in production I am fine going up til 500$ so I ordered it via OSK, and now I hope that they make a Gimli too with this much detail.

I mean OSK is official sponsor of this site is a user here with great response time hasmanymany great reviews here and is my personal favourite. But sOmEoNe on ReDdIt said something bad? Dont k ow why people go for some reddit opinions when you have your best sources right here.

Anyway among kghobbyand giantoys there is also toysremzcollectibles which are pretty reliable, can recommend it too.

I have never ordered directly from Asian retailers so I am very unsure which is the most reputable for shipping to Canada. If their are any Canadians/Americans here can you please advise a fellow collector. Thank you
You have a retailer right in your hometown of Vancouver actually, AgesThreeAndUp. I've never ordered anything from them however, so can't really speak for them....yet. (PO'ed my Anakin & Padme from them recently, see how that goes...next year lol)
Imagination Hobby is another good Canadian site.
As for overseas retailers, I've got a couple for ya. I've also never had any import charges from any of these.
First off, Giantoy. They have been awesome to me over the last two years. Never any issues. Usually my first pick.
OneSixthKit. Kit's a great dude, always willing to help if you have any issues. And no hassles getting replacement parts if anything arrives defective.
Gundamit, TNS Figures, seem pretty good.
KGHobby...can be a little sketch at times. lol Hard to beat their prices though. Might not wanna order anything over $300 from them. lol
Recently got an order from Sugo, which is based in Australia. Didn't have any import charges, and they offer payment plans. And they recently put up this guy for PO. I'm guessing he might come with an import charge though.

Dang, looking at all these sites and realizing I've ordered from all of them at some point....I'm starting to think I may have a problem.

The written description of the Standard version is missing the base, necklace, pipe, grain bag, wartime quilt. I was under the impression the only difference between the two is rooted hair, bloody hands, and shattered anduril. Is this fine print that we need to look at?

Take note of the image more than the description. I think they removed more than they were suppose to with the standard when editing the type. You can see that they even erased the base from the description, when the standard would obviously come with it. The only difference with the Premium is the rooted sculpt, the broken Anduril and the two bloody hands.

Understood. I would just wonder if those horror stories are from ppl who tried to screw over OSK and since they didn’t get their way, are blasting them in other places.

OSK is pretty transparent and shares screenshots on Facebook when someone tries to get their deposit back such as saying things like “I never ordered this, you’re just trying to scam me” or something similar to that effect.

But of course, it doesn’t hurt to be cautious, especially with items as high a price as these, so best to go where you feel the more comfortable for sure. You have a decent handful of options 👍🏼

Question to those who already ordered from OSK especically from Europe. Did you get an IOSS number so that you didnt need to pay the VAT when the figures arrived and had to pay only the custom/duty? or how does it exactly go?
