Beckett and some of the other Mudtroopers wore them in Solo:

But they looked so obvious when they first appeared in today's episode, that it felt they were there just for the gag.

I do remember them from that... but like you said, planted here for the gag.

If the writers know they are going to use it, why not plant a few longcoats in the first or 2nd episode just to get the viewers mind to already accept it as common at this time.

Did anyone get a Hux vibe from that officer with Tala

The timeline might be appropriate . In the OT he could’ve been a a lower ranked officer :chase

See, I can easily see them collecting people like that.

Authoritarian regimes tend to see people as things to be used, especially if they might have a use for you - or your DNA - later. Its like China using their prison population as impromptu organ donors: you are our prisoner, and what you want does not matter. We will use you as we see fit; or at least, we'll use your kidneys.

That's what it is to be a slave.

Well they did it in V (the tv movie and tv series) but that was for food :lol

This latest episode got me thinking maybe I was too hard on the Book of Boba.

Am I the only one who feels the “ the BACTA tank “ concept is starting to jump the shark for SW..particularly …Disney SW

I think if it weren't for BOBF, it wouldn't seem like an issue. I like how it was handled here, Kenobi and Vader healing at the same time, and it was brief.

From watching what Reva did in this episode …what if Vader used the force on the snow speedsters on the Hoth battle in ESB :horror

This was far and beyond the best episode in the series so far.

This episode was very average.

What have I become.
I feel this episode could’ve played later in the series since the flow was simple. I have to think Ms Marvel premiering on the same day on D+ had played into it

Ok, since here in the real world they sedate you when doing stuff like putting you on a ventilator - for the exact reason of preventing a freakout - I'm concerned that they would put someone in a bacta tank using scuba equipment, and NOT sedate them? Especially when he was unconscious when he went in, who wants the patient freaking out when intubated and he wasn't able to consent first.

This bunch, evidently.

Hux isn't nearly old enough to be an officer in the Empire during this series. He was born around the time of ANH/The Battle of Yavin.
