Enjoying the show so far and really liked this episode. Even though I’ve already got him, a DS Anakin reissue from that hallucination would be incredible! More people deserve that figure, I think it’s one of HT’s best.

The only thing I can’t shake is that at some points the show really feels kinda cheap? Does anyone else feel this way? Like it’s clearly shot in some California valley (where Vader and Obi ‘fought’ just looks like that place in GTA V where you get the dump trucks lol) and the inquisitors look like low-budget cosplayers. Obviously their terrible acting doesn’t help. Reva’s performance is just downright terrible, but they set up the stage perfectly already for any valid criticism of her absolutely out-of-universe acting style to be deflected as racism so I guess they won’t learn and hire better actors in the future.

Tala, the officer that helped Ben was phenomenal and after a quick google I found she attended a drama school in London, something NONE of the inquisitors did which shows with her performance absolutely overshadowing their cartoonish squabbling.

Oh also, I swear to christ if they keep treating lightsabers like baseball bats then I will be severely disappointed in Kenobi and Vader’s inevitable rematch. There is a reason the PT/TCW has the best duels in Star Wars and it’s because the sabers are weightless! For some reason Disney insists on using those heavy FX sabers that results in them lumbering every swing. I’m hoping I can put it down to Ben’s rustiness and Vader playing with his food. I want the rematch to give of Battle of Heroes, Duel of the Fates, Palps v Yoda, Ahsoka v Maul, Sidious v Maul/Savage vibes. Fingers crossed 🤞

Also, pardon for my ignorance but what is 4k77?

So if Obi doesn't know that Vader survived, because "Tatooine is such a remote planet that the Empire isn't interested in," why does he get so scared when he sees Vader through the blinds as he walks through the town?

Further to that, if Obi has "lost connection/cut himself off" from The Force, how does he "feel" that Vader/Anakin is nearby in the town... aaaaannnnnd, how did he all of a sudden muster The Force to catch Leia in ep 2?

What do you mean why does he get scared when he sees Vader? Because he finds out he’s alive in the previous episode :lol

But how does he know it's Anakin? He doesn't know what he looks like as Vader? And, again, if he's cut off from The Force why does he miraculously have it work at all the convenient plots points where it needs to to push the story forward?

I mean it’s common sense if the Inquisitors and army are bowing to him when he walks down the street it’s pretty obvious he’s Vader.

You can’t have every little thing spelled out for us as it is that’s already a big problem too much telling and not enough showing.

Could Vader had just been a higher lever Inquisitor in ObiWan’s eyes sure I guess but Inquisitors just don’t warrant that level of fear and respect from their own empire ObiWan knows that.

He’s not cut off from the force, he just hasn’t used it in 10 years.

He found out he was alive in episode 2. It's fairly obvious it's Vader walking through the street. :dunno

Not aimed at anyone in particular in this thread, more social media in general, YouTube comment sections etc.
A decent portion of the comments praising this episode seem to be about Vader killing people.
Turns out that's all they need to do to make people like this show is to Vader kill a bunch of people.
Reminds me of a George Lucas interview about the prequels. He blamed a certain of fan backlash to the PT was that it wasn't just about Vader going around killing people. Guess George was right in a way.
My early comments that all they need to do is not treat Obi-Wan too badly ie, don't do what they did to Boba or Luke and give Vader a "badass" scene or 2 (in this case killing a few people) and it'll be loved, turned out correct too.
Never mind the cheapness of it all, the silliness in places, the bad acting from certain characters, the fan film quality costumes, the overall dull story etc etc.
Vader killed a young adult, instant classic.
I'm obviously out of touch with the rest of the fandom.
And this is the type of Star Wars we'll be getting for the foreseeable. BoBF did very well rating wise and seems everyone loves this show.
This is Star Wars now.

To be fair, there's no shortage of BDSM cosplayers strutting around in this show with various combos of black armor, capes and faux-evil demeanors. :lol

Everyone is too distracted to notice near infant Leila out running adults, out smarting adults, giving orders to adults, carrying on conversation at an unrealistic adult level? She might be the worst character of the Disney star wars era.

Already been recorded.

It's a fast moving thread...

I do think they took it too far when her and Obiwan approached the transport vehicle in episode 3 but for the most part the adults tend to listen to her but then brush it off and continue on with their adult plans.

The whole Leia was sassy and confident as an adult therefore she had to be 100% the same way as a child is a little annoying but not a show stopper not when Vader is an actual child/family unit murdering monster and sadistic fire torturing psycho.

It's somewhat acknowledged within the show that she's ahead of her years when Obi-Wan rhetorically asks how old she is. Then factor in she's the daughter of a child Queen/young adult Senator and a prophesied Jedi ''chosen one''.....might aswell allow it.

She's 10 years old, she's not a toddler. She's also being raised for leadership in an aristocratic family, so her having an expanded vocabulary and being able to converse with adults isn't that far-fetched. The outrunning adults part was unrealistic, but her being whip-smart and sassy is consistent with the OT version of Leia.

Makes sense considering how much importance is placed on Anakin’s very unique status as THE chosen one!

It’s not like her dad was those Jedi’s that walked into Palpatine’s office with Mace and had enough hubris and over confidence to keep them alive for a whopping 45 seconds!
