JND Studios: Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) 1:3

They've killed my enthusiasm for 1/6 and 1/4 collecting as well. Even for most 1/3 offerings from other companies. I've ordered WW, Joker, Catwoman, and Harley and not much else at the moment. I'll likely sell of most of my other collectibles to make space.

Haha, this is what JND meant when they first appeared with their marketing saying make space. They knew people would sell their collections to make way for these.

Hot Toys are still great, it's just these statues have done to Hot Toys what Hot Toys had done to all other collectibles prior to that for those seeking to have a realistic portrayal of their favourite characters. No going back from that really once you've experienced better.

Right now JND and Queen are definitely the companies to watch. I regret passing on JND’s Joker in favor of QS’s. I should have POed both and sorted it out down the road. I’m curious as to what’s coming down the pipeline for JND. Nolan Batman probably makes the most sense. Conceivably, they could go Snyderverse (Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman) although I wonder if Warner is starting to clamp down on Snyder-related characters. Or they could produce a Christopher Reeve Superman, which would be a definite PO. If JND were to announce a Marvel or Star Wars license I think the race would definitely be on.

They've confirmed Bale Bats is coming so I'm hoping he's next, to pair with Joker and Catwoman. I also would really like to see them do Snyderverse Batman and Superman. Especially Superman. I don't think anyone has really nailed Henry Cavill's likeness yet.

Being a 1/4th collector, The JL line up may break me, I can't believe how good this Harley is, makes look back at WW84 and think I should have ordered my first 1/3rd than. I agree with Chronos though, these pieces stand only with other JND pieces, nothing else compares.

Really not going to care too much about Bale Batman. There was a time when I'd be all over it, but I'm quite happy with just Joker from Dark Knight. I'd be all over Affleck Batman, Superman and Gal's Wonder Woman costume.

A Knightmare Joker wouldn't go amiss also.

Then I'd probably be out. There's no way I've got space for these all.

I like the statue and I made a preorder (my first JND collectibles) but to be honest neither JND nor Infinity Studio have nailed the likeness of the portrait from every direction. Must be something related to Margot Robbie, maybe very difficult to reproduce.

I don't think it's something specific to Margot Robbie. It's difficult to accurately capture unique human likeness as how someone looks can change drastically with lighting, angles, and expressions. People also perceive each other uniquely, each of us focusing on differing minor details.

I doubt you'll ever find a sculpt that everyone 100% agrees looks like the actor/actress without fault. To my eye, the JND sculpt is closer than Infinity Studios by a good margin. Didn't IS say they were going to re-work the sculpt? I don't think they've shown any updates as of yet.

Very true about the personal perception and minor details.
The problem I see with IS is that the actress looks a bit older than she was in the movie and the facial expression is not representing in the best way the character of Harley Quinn. They should have been a bit more brave and lss conservative.

I think this is the best representation of this character yet, but the more realistic it becomes, the more uncanny valley it is and that's why it doesn't look spot on. Our brains know there's something up, like with realistic cgi. To me her mouth looks too big, but it will still look awesome in hand

Yeah there is something just a bit generic about the likeness, but I still think it comes pretty darn close and I see plenty of Margot Robbie in there. And the face is so gorgeous and adorable with that big smile that it kinda makes up for the likeness not being 100% there, at least for me.

I think any shortcomings in the sculpt are outweighed by the overall presence and quality of the piece. I mean, she looks amazing

She does look really good. The teeth still look weird to me. Can't really pinpoint what it is. Maybe it's just "too real" since they're using dentures? Idk. I'm not getting it anyway though, so what I think really doesn't matter

I think the issue might be that the gums are way too light, so that it looks like just solid white teeth inside. If you look at any pic of Margot smiling you can see much more of a contrast between the teeth and gums.

I honestly don’t understand why everyone is complaining about her mouth, to me looks fine. I do agree the portrait is not 100% Margot Robbie but the problem is that it is difficult to pinpoint what’s really wrong with it.

I can't believe how this looks. The details all over are astounding, unparalleled! Not the biggest fan of the character, but really liked her in Suicide Squad, but so happy I didn't skip this one. This is my 1/3 Hyper-real mixed media dream! The separate real clothing, the eyes, dentures, real hair, this is going to look like a real Harley Quinn in person, can't wait for this!

Also great news on the Arthur Fleck head sculpt touch ups they'll do for free, messaged them about it for more details. Fantastic company.
