So from the way Nanjin explains things in the video whenever the TMP figures go up they’ll be shipping out soon after we order. I take it they’ll be going up soon-ish.

From the estimated release dates on the cards at the Con, it looks like the TWOK figures are not a three pack. McCoy drops Q4 this year, with Kirk and Spock in 2023.

But yeah, those figures are definite must buys.

Hey, can I just express my gratitude to Nanjin for not only pushing the envelope to what can be done in 1/6 scale Trek figures, but just the chance to budget my toy purchases for the next year or two? I’m afraid my interest in some other upcoming figures I was planning on picking up just got seriously downgraded after this weekend.

I know it hasn't been discussed much on here, but I'm seriously loving that Burnham sculpt and how perfectly it captures her despite not having a ton of detail like the male characters. I think that's when you know you have a great likeness.

As for Riker... eh still not feeling that one.

Thank you for saying that. I get so tired of people gatekeeping and bashing the shows that they personally don't like. Just because you don't like something, doesn't mean that it's not real/true/etc. Let people enjoy things!

I personally don't enjoy DISCO (Pike & Saru aside), but I don't begrudge anyone who enjoys it - heck, I wish I liked it more! But it's absolutely, 100% real Trek. Just like PIC, SNW, Prodigy and LD. I've even come around to Lower Decks, which I didn't enjoy much at first, to the point I'm sculpting my own versions of the figures.

I'm not a super fan of DISCO but there are parts I like alot. I have a soft spot for Picard, plus I really like Rios and Seven on the show, I want to see more of their story. Lower Decks took a few episodes for me to get into, and it's my current favorite of the new shows. I really balances humor/fan service/ and a actual story pretty well, plus ALL the easter eggs. Prodigy I'm liking, my daughter likes it more, she's 10 so she's right at their target audience, it probably my second favorite of the new shows. I suspect SNW will take the number one spot though, really liked Pike when he was on DISCO.

Something I'm noticing alot though is Trek has a deep divide between it's fanbases. It's not just New Trek vs Old Trek. It breaks down to TOS purists hating everything not TOS, TNG era people hating TOS and evertrhing after, JJ movie people hating all other Trek, and the New Trek people hating the old stuff. Feels like people like me who just like it all, and happy that others like Trek no matter what version it is are a dying breed.

That Archer actually looks quite good and instantly recognizable. The Riker though, yikes. I have full confidence it will be refined, so I am not worried.

Every time I see that Archer I’m disappointed. I’ll likely still get it because ideally I want all of the Captains (well up to ENT at least), but I’m not overly happy how he’s looking at this stage.

I feel like Riker will improve. He’s not the best looking figure, but he looks alright enough to me that I’ll get him.

Just finished watching TMP for the second time ever tonight and really appreciate it more now as I’ve gotten older. Also, man is that Jerry Goldsmith score glorious. Really looking forward to the Kirk/Spock two pack. I actually quite like the costume design in the film, it does just feel more “futuristic” to me than the maroon uniforms.

Was it the new remastered Director's cut? They did a really good job upgrading to 4k and upgrading the SFX.

Yeah I'll probably try sculpting on his S1-2 hairstyle, but not sure how much that will really help. I'm also not as fond of that vibrant shade of blue that I guess they changed the uniforms to in the final season. If I was going to have that uniform represented I'd rather it be the darker bluish-purple one they wore early on.

I think with the Archer figure, it’s definitely the hair that’s throwing it off. Riker unfortunately to me looks nothing like Frakes but hoping that he can be refined.

Not really. Porthos almost looked like puppy size in the first season. Most Beagles only get to around 16 inches.

I didn’t say I didn’t like it, just simply that he looks a little on the small side. Archer coming with Porthos is a bonus.

There seems to be a pocket missing on his upper arm? I've seen him getting the communicator out of there twice now. I understand though that these probably won't be working zippers.
