Managed to get an order in for the deluxe. Was really on the fence but this is one of those iconic, classic roles that will be a statement piece. I don’t think I’ll be a regular customer at these prices but this will be a worthwhile purchase.

I agree and I'm sure this is how many feel. Only other figures I'm currently interested in from the initial line up are Legolas and Gandalf, but I can't see myself spending this much on them. If there are single rooted hair versions for less, then I'll consider them, but a well rooted TDK Joker with a well tailored suite is one of those figures I've always wanted.

Couldn't resist any longer, ordered the deluxe with Kit.

I’m quiet please with Asmus’ work on the Crown Gandalf so I don’t see myself forking out another $500 or so for another version at this point. I’m curious if this first figure doing so well will give QS a false sense of popularity. The Joker is special and this particular version especially. Few other figures will sell this well for this price. Hopefully they are in tune enough to realize that.

So now that most of us have calmed down from the PO hype...I wanna say something:

IF HT were to in a totally not in reaction to QS /IA’s joker, all of a sudden reveal their super turbo new challengers deluxe premium 2 complete figures with a THIRD portrait and rooted hair joker, priced at $750 and ACTUALLY looks decent...I’m still sticking with QS.

Why? Because it’s out of principle. Them releasing another joker in response to QS version will be one of the most disingenuous moves. If their ver outsold QS, HT will eventually just go back to their insufferable ways.

Don’t let us down QS/IA.

IF HT were to in a totally not in reaction to QS /IA’s joker, all of a sudden reveal their super turbo new challengers deluxe premium 2 complete figures with a THIRD portrait and rooted hair joker, priced at $750 and ACTUALLY looks decent...I’m still sticking with QS.

Why? Because it’s out of principle. Them releasing another joker in response to QS version will be one of the most disingenuous moves. If their ver outsold QS, HT will eventually just go back to their insufferable ways.

I would get it because I haven't put in a PO with QS yet but let's be honest chances of Hot Toys trying that hard are slim to none, they're lazy enough to just downsize the awful 1/4 sculpt and call it day, at the end of the day the joke will be on me lol.

For sure. It will be interesting to see what they charge for the next figures as well as how they are formatted meaning, will they also have a standard, premium and deluxe. While I think they mentioned in one of the live streams that not every release will be two-packs etc like this Joker is, and hopefully that means the price won't be as much either.

So, does anybody think Hot Toys got wind of the QS Delorean and that's why they've finally decided to release theirs? May suggest a Hot Toys Joker *isn't* coming if it wasn't also rushed out to get ahead of them.

Only thing that would best out this reveal is if HT did Nurse Joker, which is the only one I truly want at this point.

Wor-Gar...I hope the dinner was worth it. When you look back by the end of this year, you’ll be asking yourself “why oh why did I go to that damn dinner? Now I’m stuck with having to pay triple the asking price for the rooted hair...WHY???”

Yea, I’m still able to order the deluxe on osk. Not sure where people are seeing sold out. That wouldn’t go with their 72 hour window.

I think a solid TDK Batman could be successful for them if it’s definitive and they keep it simple with no rooted hair.

The thing I keeping thinking about though is, would the tooling for all the armor pieces and the welted on leg armor actually be more difficult than rooted hair for a company this size?

Rooting and tailoring can be solved with the right artists and enough time but a lot of tooling, injection molding, and complex manufacturing can only be solved with engineering and piles of money. HT may actually keep the edge for armored figures due to scale. It seems they prefer figures with no likeness to worry about anyway.

It would really put a bitter taste in my mouth to give HT more money for another Ledger Joker.

Hot Toys has too many figures in their production backlog to start pissing contests with a company aiming to release their figure within the same year it went up for pre-order.
