First, I saw you talk about that already, then I saw you talk about it again then again. That's all I am saying I get it. You have concerns with it. Fine. But I mean your flaws are petty. Plus that 1/3rd I see more flaws in that than this. I think this statue is sick af.

Well, if you read my whole comment, I have bitched too in the past. However, not about paint or quills or whatever about a statue. What pisses me off about a statue is if the sculpt is way off like the Myers PCS 1/4th. I went off on that statue. But also, if you dish it out you got to be able to handle yourself too. Like most, I love it. I think your so into Predator that you think way to much about it. But yet we don't see much of him in the movie. Which is very hard to get good shots. Not till the end. Plus my whole point was that all statues have flaws. Your not going to be 100 percent happy with a mass produced statue. A custom is different. You also pay a **** load more for it. That bust you have Im sure was quite a bit and the run was low. Plus it wasn't the size of an apple. So, Im not sure what your expecting. The1/3rd I think looks worse. Just like their heath joker. Some Prime one looks off. That 1/3rd is a chunker. This looks 80 to 90 percent like the prototype. But no reason debating. Because you have your opinion I have mine. But its the repeating yourself over and over about paint and little stupid things. Rather, when I complain its about a sculpt about being lied too. You see the 1/4 PCS Myers and then what pple received I was not happy. Pple took that personal. I never take it personal. Your opinion is yours. But now its a copy and paste thing.

To be fair.. you have the skills to fix paint flaws so those issues wont bother you. Others might not be able to so bad paint apps can ruin a great sculpt.

Having said that I dont think that is the case here. i think the paint apps seem 90% to the proto. But I can see why some fans are let down a bit. These Predator fans on this site and others are a nutty bunch. Some of the most critical eyes I have ever seen. But thats cool. They are very passionate.

I do agree with you about the quills though.. I dont know if i would have noticed right away but they are a swing and a miss

I could deal with color thing. That isn't hard to repaint. But replacing the quills is way more difficult

Damn near impossible unless you are willing to pull them all out and shave them down.

Not an issue for me as I think they look good enough and unmasked is probably not my go to display option. I can see how this would be a major eyesore for some.

But I think everything else about this peace is damn near perfect to the proto.

I actually just picked up painting and easy to put some sweat on it. I forget what its called but I have it and you just apply it. I get passionate fans. Like I said I was very angry about Myers PCS 1/4 cuz that is a piece I was dead set on getting but I have the PCS 1/3rd and its great so it takes away some of the sting. But that prototype and the final result look completely different. Those are the things that bug me. Not paint. But I get what your saying as people don't have that option. But I pick up things just by my likes. Like this I won't sell. I won't repaint it I think it just needs that wet look. But I will wait till I get it in hand. But your right I say 90 percent too. Its funny though how pple judge off a movie. NO one has scene the real mask. We go off observation and subjective observation lol. Same with Myers mask. However, we can see the prototype their and what the final result was. We see that here and I see greatness. Little dullness in paint but overall. Very happy like yourself. I got the deluxe. Did you?

Prime 1 City Hunter mask compared to SWS mask. Looks like the same 1/4 scale.

Prime 1 Jungle Hunter head compared to SWS predator unmasked head.

If Prime 1 City hunter and SWS predator are 1/4 scale then well... Then the Prime 1 Jungle Hunter is "What the ****?" scale :lol

Me thinks this is 1/3.5 scale. No way 1/4.

Pred height roughly 230cm/3.5 = 65cm + 5cm (as the foot is rested on the base) = 70cm which is the approximate statue height. Probably why it was priced higher than the 1/4 CH with it's size, additional switch outs and base.

1/3 won't be that much bigger than this, if correctly scaled, it'd be around 82cm including base.

Pot... Kettle... Black!
That's the nature of the forum though. The complainers chime in then the happy camp chimes in and back and forth back and forth. Around and around we go.

To be honest none of us can say one way or the other till we have the piece in hand and can judge its merits and flaws in person. And the only opinion that truly matters in the end is your own. I'm just hoping the shipping gods are ever in my favor [emoji38]

This is true, although it's always the overly positive people telling everybody else to shut up or go away if they don't think it's perfect. Nobody ever cares that they post the same positive posts over and over. I like a good nitpick, and I try to always do it in a constructive manner that won't spoil others enthusiasm. I wouldn't call it complaining so to speak, I think it's just an interesting discussion to have with like-minded people around here. I really enjoy comparing these things to the real suits etc. Sometimes they stand up, sometimes not so much, this statue does mostly. Also, we're getting to a point with these things where it's harder to find any real complaints. Compare this thing to Sideshows JH only a couple of years ago. That thing looks like a blob of playdo compared to this, and that's great! There will be a day where even I won't be able to nitpick about these, that will be kind of a sad day for me, but a great one for the hobby :lol I don't think pretending everything is perfect helps anybody however. I ordered this, I like this a lot but if this does ever ship, I'll have paid $3k+ for it and it which imo makes it more than fair enough to point out that the movie mask is not up to the standard of the rest of the statue. If Prime 1 see feedback like this early on, who knows, they may even act on it in which case we'd all win, complainers and the happy camp :lol Either way, it's all cool. But I do find the posts of members telling others what they can and can't say the only real annoying thing around here. But like my critiques, they are very easy to ignore and scroll past... :duff

Oh I agree with you. Theres always room for constructive criticism in hopes these companies could catch early enough to fix etc. I must say though this is pretty mild in here compared to some other parts of the board. Like the Lord of the Rings and Indiana Jones sections. I guess we have those types on every area of the hobby. I try not to let it damper my enthusiasm though. Some people want more for their money and I understand that.

Another collector got his today and posted pics on Facebook!

Open-mouthed portrait actually looks better than the closed-mouth in this photo set. There are some quills pointing the wrong direction on the closed-mouth's forehead. I think that exacerbates their thickness. If they were uniform and flowed in the right direction, it wouldn't be as noticeable.

This. I'll add that what one person considers to be a minor gripe may be a glaring issue to another. For Matt, all it needs is a gloss coat. I envy him. A couple hours and he'll have the statue of his dreams. For me, it needs a total body repaint and that means spending another $1000 (and potentially devaluing the piece), so I'm considerably more miffed. But everyone knows that at this point, so it's become redundant.

i think the biggest disappointment of this piece is the bio. good shape, but the finishing is really bad.

the finishing on the Sideshow Maquette's bio makes this Prime 1 bio look like it's from NECA & McFarlane Toys, and that's not an exaggeration.
