What worries me, is that if they charge us for these insane shipping rates before we’re even given the option of cancelling. I read on one of the other groups from someone receiving an email say it’s ready to ship & within 2hrs he’d been charged.

Well legally they can't. If you've emailed them and cancelled your order, they can't legally charge you. I basically cancelled mine the moment i saw the shipping costs. Ill get one towards the end of the year locally

I’m waiting another week to see if they contact me with the offer of a full refund or a hold before I cancel.

I don’t know what I’m worrying about to be honest. Like you said, i’m sure there’ll be plenty of these & City Hunters floating about on the secondary market.

Good luck trying that with me - I leave ZERO in my PayPal account and it's not linked to a bank account :)

I've already warned them they need to INVOICE me and THEN I'll pay.

I’ve already tried to remove mine, but as I’ve made 2 payments already to Prime1 via my account I can’t remove it.

Just to clarify (because I'm dim) . . . is that because you are paying in installments AND/OR your PayPal IS linked to your bank account?

I ask because ALL of us will have had to pay them (at least) the deposit via PayPal as they don't accept direct credit card payments.

BUT, because my account is not linked to a bank account (my PayPal is funded via credit card at the time I pay), they simply cannot get to any funds if the PayPal balance is zero.

You never know. Only 800 of the DX, and just 350 of the victim. I bet these don't hang around long, and I'd expect to pay more in the secondary market in the future.

Yeah, paid $150 deposit in August 2019. And then $449 in March & April. I have my bank account linked as I use eBay quite often too.

Very true. The Dog Alien is a good example of this.

I don't know, $1700 for the DX, let's assume $800 shipping for now. Tax varies but would be $500 for me. That makes this a $3k statue right from the start, that's more than the SWS sells for and that was produced by the big man himself and is widely regarded as a grail. I think we're at the point now where you go into these things expecting to lose money if anything, not make it. So basically, only buy what you intend to love and keep.

I also doubt with the iffy reception this statue has recieved so far will allow it to sell out quickly. The dog alien was seen as an instant grail when inhand pictures were released. This however its just been constant criticism (rightfully so), that doesn't equal sales

Well the very first pictures of the dog weren't good. It was a very blurry image in a very disorganized room. But the next set of pictures were outdoors and looked fantastic.
I think both times are actually on Marco Bells IG page. You can go back and see people complaining about the bad quality. And then scrambling to order the next week.
( updated with the first image and then the good outdoor quality one)

See, the problem is is that we do have pretty clesr pictures of this so far. Not saying we can't better pictures, but most think this is fairly rushed. Id be surprised if it sells out before the end of the year

I compared it to the prototype when I called it a bootleg, not the film prop. Most people here are doing the same.

The mandible on one statue is glued improperly and there's light bleed on the wrist computer, the head dots are misaligned on two of them, there's too big a gap between the strips of dots on all of them, the body paint in general is barely above Sideshow quality, the finish is duller, and the head position appears to vary.

We've only seen three or four different statues so far, but each has its own problems which suggests rushed production. What does it matter if these are the first in-hand pics? Most of them are clear enough to tell the quality is dramatically reduced, let's say to 60% since you asked.

Some new pics. These are low-res, obviously filtered and color corrected, but they do a better job of confirming the water on the base. Head position looks better on this one, not entirely sure.

These are the best pics we've seen so far.....:)

May not be the same piece. Their Facebook page suggested they were some kind of retailer, so either they took photos of multiple statues or shared photos from more than one collector.

I think you're right. Looking at the spotting they look to be different heads.
