Agree about Neeson - for me it crosses that line into good vs. "sort of/generic" likeness. Like it took HT a few tries with the Winter Soldier to get it perfect; then there's pieces like Hela and Yondu that are stellar out of the gate.:google

Don't think anyone who appreciates the detail that HT can do won't be happy with this. Plus, he's just great to work with.

Well, except for tinkering (like adding hair and weathering this *cheap* Yoda that actually has a pretty good sculpt IMO) - my small Master Jedi shelf is done, except waiting on the next Obi-Wan.

Not gonna backtrack and try to collect all the PT/OT figs $$$$$:horror and anyway determined to ratchet back (after getting 2 Qui-Gons but that's DIFFERENT since he's a fav of mine.:monkey3)

Maybe if they put out a new farmboy Luke - I'd go for that. Talked myself out of a fair number of figs, so guess the wallet thanks me. For now. Until the next got-to-have shows up, which I suspect will be a new Obi-Wan. PS, still luv the SSC Mythos Obi-Wan - great fig!:clap

Yeah, I'm all in for AOTC Obi. I was debating to use my RP points for QGJ or Cody. I guess I was meant to get QGJ with my RP. I think I would regret more if he went on the waitlist, with Cody not so much.

Am biased probably, but - yeah. Qui-Gon's definitely a fig I got happy about, opening the box ('coz of the negative comments and then couldn't figure out what folks were complaining about....they wanted more paint/eyeshadow I guess. But IMO in hand the paint is really well done; soft transitions, layers of paint in the hair, good skin tone, and all that.)

Plus u start working with him and there's a surprising amount there re looks and poses u can get. There's the head articulation thing, but I put up with that with Thor too. IMO Qui-Gon is just a quality fig.

PS. Blew all my RPs on the Boba set, but really, couldn't have swung it otherwise $$$$$:horror

Good to hear. QGJ is a must for Star Wars fans. Definitely gonna get that Boba set. Was thinking of using my RP on that but it's still too far away for release. Hot Toys is killing it with Star Wars right now.

I wouldn't BS about with fig comments LOL have had a few meltdowns.:lol

With Qui-Gon it's a lot of small positive things that all add up - like I was worried the pleather boots would look cheap, but they don't. It feels like "good" pleater and u get good ankle articulation. Nice use of materials with all the tunic folds, and the wiring in key places. All the switchouts. HT's stellar eye work - impressive as Neeson has deep set eyes; can't image painting that.:horror

A fig that just looks and feels good in hand; striking on the shelf. The kind of fig we expect from HT.

Unlike the recent Caps, where a lot of folks are happier about the more plastic-coated uniform material, but I'm not. Also the sculpt here doesn't have that lip/beard problem that IW Cap did (like a big overhang where the mouth doesn't seem to be in line in profile).

Meanwhile am living in terror of HT's first attempt at Pascal, after the Iron Man debacle.:monkey3:horror

I can?t seem to find who originally posted this (I believe FB) but it was impressive that I stole the FOOK out of this pose. Eventually I?ll get around to posting my rendition (poncho, different left hand) but it deserves the credit it is due.

Best pose I've seen of him yet. Idk why but this seems like a bland figure to me. But you brought it to life with that pose.

Hmmmmm for sure DK! I?m hoping not full on force ghost since it was pretty clear that he didn?t complete the training necessary to fully manifest post physical death. But then again, neither did Anakin and if we don?t ignore the ST (I?d rather ignore it), although it was never specified, seemed like perhaps neither did Luke.

I?m thinking voice only or de-aging technology. After Liam?s ?confession? about wanting to go hunt a rapist that wasn?t caucasian, I?d imagine his acting prospects were limited and is willing to get back out there doing anything. But hey, let?s fire Gina-that?s a bright idea! Ahhh, I know Disney are a bunch of hypocrites and leave it at that.

I?m just super stoked that we will be getting more Jinn!

Guessing it's a better possibility we see a bit of Qui-Gon in the Obi-Wan series - like if he shows up as a "vision" he might look pretty ghostly and you wouldn't have to use a lot of tech (or silicon makeup) on him. (And re Disney and Gina - that didn't go down real well, if Disney was expecting a pat on the head from viewers:pfft:)

I figure Obi-Wan WOULD have communicated with Qui-Gon, since Yoda specifically says he's gonna teach Obi-Wan to communicate with him. So I am happy to display Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon together (with my cheap-but-not-bad Yoda figure - who knows, even Yoda might make an appearance).

Nice pics:clap:clap:clap

I am still loving that picture Bo! It is a pose I would definitely consider especially since I have Vader in a similar pose which would provide a neat looking juxtaposition! (<?kinda proud of myself for using that word referencing art pretty much perfectly. Yes, I am a DB). Washing the cloak 2965293 times though is the main reason why I probably will never do it; I also love the poncho way more than I would have ever thought possible.

Shoot, Yoda appeared in ****ing Rebels (looking worse than even some of the worst figures of him) so I would actually be a bit bummed if if they didn?t expand the canon a bit with the 2 of them doing some type of force communion. I almost called it force communication but that wording sounded even worse than force communion. Hopefully the religious overtones of using the word communion will not force Disney (punny) to use communication as the descriptor (of course there are many other synonyms but I do like the sound of force communion).

I still can not believe they came from the same creator much less are the same character:

Yoda is one of my favorite characters but TBH the cheap fig I picked up off the 'bay to me has one of the better sculpts - go figure (no pun intended). Some of the stuff I see makes it looks like Master Yoda has been eating *special medicinal brownies*.:monkey3

Guess there wasn't much to do out on Dagobah except spy on Luke now and then.:google

HT should just do a set with Qui-Gon and Yoda - assuming the series goes that way. Or SSC, since I am very happy with my Mythos Obi-Wan. If Qui-Gon can talk to Rey (very very briefly), they sure can pay Neeson to show up for a limited series.

How did you guys fuzz the tabbards? Pull on the shoulders and then drape them back forward?

Is there a tutorial on how to best wash HT's troublesome darker clothes (in this case the cloak) to get all the dye out to prevent future damage the headsculpt? Which soaps to use / water temperature, etc. that kind of stuff.

Dunno about a tutorial, but think it's pretty standard to 1) use COLD water; 2) hand wash - I let stuff soak in a plastic food container with a little mild soap - shampoo, dish soap, Woolite; 3) then rinse, rinse in cold water; 4) final soak in a solution of 30-50% white vinegar and water (the vinegar acts as a dye fix); 5) blot with towel/cloth and then air dry. Always use cold water - a lot of fabrics don't like hot water, especially when u don't know what the fabric is.

Or modify instructions here:

or use a Rit dye fix product.

Yes gently pull the tabbards upwards...then slip the handle of a thin paint brush in over the belt/band section to help shape them downwards.

If you don't have a paint brush use the light-saber blade...

I wouldn't be too over worried about excess dye...i found very little came out of the brown cloaks. Soaking it in warm water for half an hour worked for me...
