I'm thinking Hot Toys is going to really hit the market hard with Batman characters when the new movie hits, so this is the only year we'll probably see retro figures for a while. Remember, Keaton Bats is in the new Flash movie, too, so we might get an older version of him next rather than another classic Burton figure. (I'm not sure what they could offer with a Burton figure that would have me buying it, as the first one is so perfect with so many great accessories. Unless they went full Bruce/Alfred/Armory, which I'd nab in a heartbeat.)

I know it probably isn't happening, but I still really want that '66 Joker as a surprise Toy Fairs exclusive. What an amazing looking figure that was...

While the Forever sonar suit was always a favorite of mine for years, I was starting to think I wouldn't actually get one if/when HT finally makes it as I have enough different iterations already. Now that I see the shots, I'm starting to be tempted again. :lol Don't care about Robin though, he was never a character I cared about much.
I have nothing on pre-order or really on the horizon collectible-wise, so this might be nice one to get in 2022. Will see what the EU sellers will charge for this.

Regarding the larger scale some are claiming, that might be either focused on particular superhero figures (which would still suck if the case, of course), or even just random flukes like some of the ones mentioned. The "standard" TrueTypes have not increased in size, and SW figures (one of the main lines HT makes nowadays) have seen no such increase in scale - in fact, some were complaining about figures like Cody being shorter than expected. Hot Toys does use ankle extenders where applicable, so perhaps the old Two-Face was actually underscaled?
I'm not trying to be apologetic towards HT here since they do screw up the height of figures from time to time, particularly of female characters, so this might be the case here as well. But over my years of HT collecting, I actually find they have become more accurate in 1:6 height, given how modular they have made their TT's, and this is the first I've seen or read of any claims of a trend towards larger figures overall.

I'm torn. I have Returns Bats and a custom Cat; part of me doesn't need another version, but I also want to support older licenses and I do appreciate the era of these figures if not the actual film :lol ...

Re: Hot Toys - Batman Forever - Batman (Sonar Suit) Collectible Figure

Curious. The specs writeup doesn't mention the actor names at all. Don't they usually?

These look great, hopefully the quality makes it to production release and not another bait and switch. I'm on the fence though, if the Schumacher films weren't so horrible these would be an instant PO.

I'm not a fan of the movie but I would've absolutely bought this...if DX19 didn't drop first. I don't have a single 1/6 Batman and needed one. It looks great, I just don't think I'll dip into it.

DX19 is 12.6"?? Wow, they are really starting to overscale these figures. Even this sonar suit looks much more bulky/muscular than Kilmer looked in the film:

I'm glad there is so much excitement around these, as it bodes well for potential future DC based products. Personally, I hate Batman Forever and Batman and Robin so much, I could never have these on the shelf...

Those are the same specs Batman Returns Batman had. It's probably just the ears.

Was thinking this too.

Kinda wish we got this suit. That glossy black and belt are dope AF. Might be an option for HT depending how these sell. batman-forever-1581706163661.jpg

Very excited about this figure, instant PO. My biggest concern, of course, is that it will be a glorified statue, particularly from the waist down. The promo pics seem to confirm that, as there are only a couple of pictures that show any leg movement. Oh well, to be expected with most Hot Toys, I suppose.

That the panther suit? Looks cool but gonna get lost a bit on the shelf with all-black yellow-symbol Bats 1 and Bats Returns. At least the sonar suit will pop out from those previous suits. And of course we already know that Robin 'pops' out of his suit.

POed Robin but my other SS code expired before I could pick up Batman (even though it should have had an hour remaining). I prefer the Sonar because it was prominently featured in promos, but would like to see Panther as well. I wonder if Xensation will re-release their Riddler and Two-Face. They weren't perfect but looked pretty good. Hot Toys certainly won't. They never even released '66 Joker. Would be great if someone like SooSoo produced '66 Batgirl, Joker, Riddler, Catwoman (Newmar), and Penguin.

Batman & Donkey Dong.

I can't wait to see the usual Toy Shows where those two Asian girls will hold Robin close to their face and smile.
