So if QMx doesn't have the license anymore, is anyone going to tell the distributors like sideshow to cancel their preorders or will they hold the PO deposits hostage forever?

Why should QMx have lost the licence?

So several figures are already in production??? So we won't have to wait a year for a release? Very excited...wonder how many figures are planned for this year??

Nanjin said in his post "EXO-6 has ALL Star Trek 1/6 scale worldwide license except Prodigy." I guess I interpreted that to mean the exclusive license but I guess he could have meant they can produce anything under ST banner in 1/6. I guess it would make more sense if I knew what Prodigy was.

I imagine it actually means he has the rights to sell 1/6 Trek worldwide, but that the rights are non exclusive, meaning other companies could also purchase (or already have) the license to do so and release 1/6 scale Trek product if they wish.

And Prodigy is an upcoming animated series made for Nickelodeon and aimed more towards kids, probably most notable so far for featuring the return of Kate Mulgrew as Janeway.

Guys, I rarely post in this thread because I think useless talk are... useless without news.

that said, I think you are being particularly harsh on Nanjin. The guy has been fighting for us collectors to get Star Trek done in the best possible way and at very reasonable prices and the only thing you can think of doing is whining because it takes time?

Give the man a break, give him time and thank him instead!

Agreed, but.... who needs false alarms?

Nobody is pushing him but why doesn`t he come back only with "real", hard facts?

Collectors just need to sit back and relax. You have waited this long what is a another week or three at this point lol

So, I assume you think I am not real. Note taken for 2021.

I am unreal

A little note. EXO-6 needs to survive. With only 1/6 collectors as customers, ANY 1/6 trek will fail. I don't see a difference with me in charge. I can also fail if I don't do what I am doing now (and a lot more).

Therefore, EXO-6 only needs to build confidence within the original1/6 market, but need to DEVELOP a all new market within Trekverse; those has no idea what is 1/6.

Marketing efforts are geared toward new customers, while informed and timely delivery is for the regular 1/6 end-users.

I assume 1/6 collectors want to have their pre-orders in a timely basis, and know what's ahead of time.

EXO-6 will be very slow before our first release, but I think by June, end users will have a different expectation from us. A portion of people will want me to slow down.

FYI, I already have 4 figures in production. Entire year of 2021 already scheduled.

Something I am very sure. No one will be able to do any 1/6 Trek but me, not before, and not after (except Playmates), because they would freak out watching how I have this done. The local companies (in China) can't have this done either because they don't know an ounce about Trek.

:lecture

There's no one better to be in control of 1/6 Trek than Nanjin.

If it was QMx we were relying on then we'd likely be waiting far longer, if not forever!

I'm just hoping that the figures will be available at the usual haunts, the places that retailed the QMx line such as Planet Action Figures.

I agree!

Yup I'm perfectly fine waiting. Just knowing that a bunch of new Trek figures are in production and headed our way is good enough for me, especially since it's obvious we were never going to get anything else from QMX.

And hopefully with Nanjin being in charge now we won't have too many more instances like what happened with Sulu, where the sculpt got changed on us at the last minute.

Strange interpretation of what I said.

Cogitas, ergo es!

Unfortunately Mr Tam is always full of eccentricities, odd phrases and double speak.
Like politicians the answers he gives are often contrived and go against what he had once stated.

If he wants confidence from the star trek and 1/6 communities, then stick to giving realistic expectations to those who want his product, not teasers, and then deliver a June possibility for a product.

And its not "knocking" him, it is critique and feedback so that he keeps the interest and support of the collector, otherwise im afraid he will stumble at the first hurdle.

I hold realistic hopes for a success but until he makes sense im afraid my own personal faith has been a tad shaken.

But that is me and im sure there are others on this forum that have an unshaken belief inspite of the lack of concrete evidence of actual production, and im sure they will vocalize their objections to my observations.

But hey i hope he proves me wrong and makes it work it is a risk that he is clearly willing to take.

Yeah,
without any concrete information this thread that has started so promising is becoming kind of dull.

Sadly, you two and your entitlement attitudes are hilarious. Nanjin owes you, me or anyone else nothing. He is only willing to share information that he can legally share. He has mentioned that several times over. The fact that he is posting in this forum/thread should be applauded. He and Asmus are the only two 1/6 figure manufacturers that are willing to interact directly with collectors here. I may be wrong but I think that is a HUGE plus. Try that with Howard Chan at Hot Toys or any of the other dozen-plus 1/6 figure manufacturers out there. You won't hear a peep from any of them. Ever.
