Kennedy told that most of the script is ready. They'll begin shooting next year (I hope she meant spring 2020 rather than winter 2020).

Re: Hot Toys - MMS477 / MMS478 - Star Wars Episode III: Obi-Wan Kenobi (Std & Dlx)

Yeah with the script already complete I'm thinking McGregor must have already been onboard for a year or more.

Glad now I didn't splurge on the Sideshow Mythos figure, as I'd much rather get a HT version from this series if they make one. Which will probably have a much more unique and detailed design.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS477 / MMS478 - Star Wars Episode III: Obi-Wan Kenobi (Std & Dlx)

For my one fig?re per character rule, my ROTS Kenobi will suffice. But that does not mean I will enjoy the Show.
And though I don't intend to dive into nonmovie media, characters may go in nonsaga part of the collection with RO and S.

Celebrating Kenobi!

I am thrilled that it's finally official with Ewan returning to the role of Kenobi in this new limited series. Looking more forward to this than any of the movies that Dismey is producing.

Makes enjoying this great HT figure even better.

And I have NO regrets about picking up the Mythos figure...it stands on it's own as a unique take on the character. It's one of my favorites.

It will be interesting to see if HT produces a version from this series...it's a safe bet he will feature a unique look before he settles into the simple robes he wears in ANH.

It's a great time to be a Kenobi fan!

Re: Hot Toys - MMS477 / MMS478 - Star Wars Episode III: Obi-Wan Kenobi (Std & Dlx)

It would be awesome if HT produced a series version Kenobi. I like my Mythos Obi but having a EM Ben in its place would be my preference.

Yep totally. I'd be in as well.

HT also needs to do a badass Tusken Raider too ! Gotta assume they will be in this series, considering the scene where we meet him with Luke in ANH.

I'd say a year at absolute minimum.

The movie was set to go, they'd even started on concept design etc etc. Then Solo box-office happened and they panicked.

So now the movie has been re-purposed to TV, which is of courseway more screen time. I'm guessing 6 episodes (hopefully more) so therefore 5-6hrs vs say 2,5hrs for a movie. So probably a lot more needed to be written and adjusted, which is fine. Allows far better character development and story.

If it's a mini series, then I'd prefer the movie. But still it's great since we'll see Obi Wan again.

Just look at it as being 6-8 short movies.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS477 / MMS478 - Star Wars Episode III: Obi-Wan Kenobi (Std & Dlx)

Yes, but I'd like to consider it a movie rather than tv show. Movie is the prestigous one, generally.

Not in this day and age where they spend $10 Million per episode.

If grandeur is your issue and not having it on "the big screen", do yourself a huge favour and get a BenQ 1080p projector. Best thing I ever did. 16 foot screen straight on the wall.

Movies at home. Doesn't mater if it's TV or an actual "cinema movie".

Re: Hot Toys - MMS477 / MMS478 - Star Wars Episode III: Obi-Wan Kenobi (Std & Dlx)

That's a good idea.

The BenQ 1080p projectors are great. Don't worry about 4K you can't tell the difference anyway. 1080p is awesome.

Should be able to get one around $500 or so.

Mine has finally come into stock at LCDN, even though it was a day 1 pre-order :thud:. So envious of how you North American fellas get them so much earlier than here in Europe.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS477 / MMS478 - Star Wars Episode III: Obi-Wan Kenobi (Std & Dlx)

LCDN posted mine 3 weeks ago. You missed that batch it seems.

Did you get the standard version? That came in mid-July, the deluxe came into stock yesterday. Btw it's interesting that they took so long before getting Leia and Wicket up for PO, and it seems a little more expensive than usual pre-orders, I wonder if they've had to get a new supplier for that one.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS477 / MMS478 - Star Wars Episode III: Obi-Wan Kenobi (Std & Dlx)

Yes, it is regular version. I didn't think yours was deluxe. Glad you'll receive yours too.

I'm pretty sure I recall someone mentioning that LCDN receives direct from Hot Toys somehow. Not sure how true this is, but they are usually pretty competitive especially when comparing with other European stores.

I ordered my Obi Wan from Asia this time. Got him ages ago. But also the standard.
