TFW BP got nominated for best picture but TDK did not

Well I thoroughly enjoyed BP however it doesn't seem up to par with 'bigger' films.

:lol

I imagine these ones:

Oscars have become a joke for years. I mean Black Panther gets a best picture nomination, yet Logan never did, even though it was a better film. Disney must have flexed their muscles this year for this nomination.

I also don't believe in popular being good. Making a lot at the box office does not make a movie great.

You guys are missing the point. Hollywood's BEST picture doesn't mean "best" as in genuinely the best made movie, it means the movie that is the "best for the audience". It's like medicine.

There was a time when being taken seriously in Hollywood required you to do either an Auschwitz movie or a gay role. Those were guaranteed winners. A movie about gays surviving Auschwitz would be a juggernaut. Nowadays, its all about females and diversity. Truth is, it tells you who is the ruling power in Hollywood by what is considered the "important" films.

Be careful with the quotations there pal. Remember that time I got permabanned for using parenthesis!?

Where is Jye, he’ll love this.

Remember when The Hurt Locker beat Avatar for Best Movie of that Year?
Remember American Beauty beating The Matrix?
Remember when The Kings Speech beat Inception?
Remember when Shakespeare in Love beat Saving Private Ryan?
Remember when Dances with Wolves beat Goodfellas?
Remember when Annie Hall beat Star Wars and Close Encounters?

Thank God BP didn't get a Visual Effects nomination. Even the Academy recognizes that it failed as a spectacle and is simply nominating it for it's identity politics.

Hopefully BP comes up empty and IW ends up being the first MCU flick to win an Oscar.

The VFX during the final battle of Ragnarok make BP's CGI look Oscar-worthy.

...

On a side note, Halloween (2018) deserves every Razzie award it can possibly be nominated for.

Cmon now. It may have been a crushing disappointment to you and that nostalgia man man child jye, but it wasn't thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat bad. :lol

That award goes to The Predator. :lecture

To be clear, I never expected much from Halloween to begin with. I thought the trailers made it look like an enjoyable one-time horror viewing like IT, but sweet mother of God... I found it so dismal and bland. :(

I have not seen The Predator but the trailers at least make it look like you can laugh at how bad parts of it are, unlike Halloween. :lol

OMG

Can you imagine they mess that up again and call BP and then realize it’s Bohiemian :rotfl

The Predator is beyond words. It adds new lore and retcons things that made Predator cool and takes a big crap all over it.

In case you haven't heard by now, the film has a central plot point where a Predator is trying to kidnap an autistic kid to steal and weaponize his autism. :pow
