Meh, Soundgarten were better anyway. . .and I saw them once :rock

Soundgarden were awesome! I loved Kim Thayil's leads with Cornell's vocals. They had a unique and epic sound.... But no, they're not better.

Early 90's Day on the Green at the Oakland Coliseum: Metallica, Queensryche, Faith No More, Soundgarden was definitly one of the cooler shows I've been to... I only went to see Soundgarden. :rock

You are wrong! Good day, sir!

I'm pretty sure that the Police had zero songs without dark undertones of some sort or another. People think "Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic" is a happy song, but it ain't really (". . .must I always be alone?"). Roxanne was about a whore. Every Breath You Take is about a stalker. De Doo Doo Doo is about someone trying to get away from the bull____ of language, but finding himself unable and resorting to nonsense. King of Pain, So Lonely, Murder by Numbers, Wrapped Around Your Finger, all very dark songs. Even Sting's attempts to write hopeful songs (Dehumanize Yourself, One World (Not Three)) seem very cautiously optimistic, and couched in a context of human misery. Probably the closest thing to a true love song they did was "Be My Girl," about a blow-up love doll.

One of my top 2 or 3 bands all-time.

My Morning Jacket - Circuital

The new album is pretty good.

The Police are awesome! And you're totally right about their lyrics.

I was lucky enough to see them on the Synchronicity tour way back when. I've also seen Sting a few times on his solo tours.

I'm too young to have been able to see them during their prime, but I caught their reunion concert in New Orleans and it was ____ing awesome. They were really clicking on all cylinders that night. It was as if they had never stopped playing together.

I've also seen Sting in solo concert a handful of times. And though I like his solo stuff, it can't hold a candle to the Police period and songs. And when he was playing the Police songs with his solo tour band, they seemed to lack their edge and energy.
