I'd have those on my list, but they don't count. They both premiered in 1999.

Re: Top 10 Television Series' Of The Decade

Great list! I've been meaning to watch Deadwood, Chuck and Castle. Everything else is on my list. :)

Thanks!! I'd add Scrubs on there as well, but the last two seasons have been crap IMO and Rome took its seat because I just rewatched it on Blu Ray and its awesome.

Re: Top 10 Television Series' Of The Decade

Glee
Supernatural
The Vampire Diaries
How I Met Your Mother
Castle
Bones
Modern Family
Firefly
Gilmore Girls
Veronica Mars

So many to choose from because I watch so much tv. Bah!
Runners up would be:
Mad Men
Army Wives
Smallville

Re: Top 10 Television Series' Of The Decade

After thinking about this for a long time, I came up with this list:

Lost
The Office US & UK (just can't choose between those)
Supernatural
Dexter
House M.D.
Castle
Band Of Brothers
True Blood
Fringe
Las Vegas

I'm gonna have to remove Las Vegas off this list and add:

Spartacus: Blood and Sand!!!!
:rock :rock :rock

Definitely one of the best shows of the last couple of years!!!

Re: Top 10 Television Series' Of The Decade

LOST
Heroes
Two and a Half men
Man vs Wild

I think those 4 are the only ones i cared for and wanted to continue watching, the rest is just a few episodes here and there but never took it seriously.

if i can include late 90`s that ended this decade i must say king of Queens and Everybody loves Raymond.

Re: Top 10 Television Series' Of The Decade

Let me see.

1. Dexter
2. Smallville
3. Supernatural
4. The Shield
5. Prison Break
6. Spartacus
7. Sons of Anarchy
8. True Blood
9. Nip/Tuck
10.Entorage

I've been meaning to get into Breaking Bad. I heard it was really good.

Re: Top 10 Television Series' Of The Decade

Fair enough. Revised to remove The Sopranos, SVU and Raymond.

(1) 24
(2) House M.D.
(3) The Unit
(4) The Big Bang Theory
(5) Mythbusters
(6) Smallville
(7) Law and Order: Criminal Intent
(8) Prison Break
(9) King of Queens
(10) Alias

I have trouble taking seriously any list that does not include 24. Jack Bauer wouldn't put up with this s***. Haha.

SnakeDoc

I think I want to revise my list to add Burn Notice. May slot it in above L&O:CI and drop King of Queens out of the Top 10 (leaving Alias at 10).

Glee
Supernatural
The Vampire Diaries
How I Met Your Mother
Castle
Bones
Modern Family
Firefly
Gilmore Girls
Veronica Mars

So many to choose from because I watch so much tv. Bah!

Army Wives
Smallville

Haha. I'm not sure our taste in television could be any more opposite.

I've seen most of those. HIMYM is solid, and I like Smallville a lot (though I'm about a season behind). Other than that ... never the twain shall meet. My wife loves Army Wives ... but I kinda thought it was like The Unit, just without all the good stuff. I saw Glee and thought it was ridiculous (but, again, my wife likes it).

To each his (or her) own. :) I suppose that's why they make televisions shows that are so dramatically different.

The Shield is on my list to see on DVD. I've heard it compared to 24. I figure it'd likely make my list if I had seen it.

Six Feet Under is a fantastic show. Give it a try, if you like the first couple of eps, you'll like the whole series.

Re: Top 10 Television Series' Of The Decade

Haven't given this a lot of thought... and I haven't watched a lot of shows. Here's what I can think of in no particular order (except Number 1).

1) LOST (easy win)
2) Fringe
3) Arrested Development
4) Community (it's a newer show, but I laugh my ass off every episode.)
5) Firefly
6) 30 Rock
7) American Idol (I don't watch it religiously but come on... it's such a huge phenomenon, and easily the best talent show ever IMO.)
8) The Simpsons (I don't enjoy it as much as I used to, and I think it is weaker than it used to be, but it really defined the grown-up cartoon with social commentary)

Here's where I start grasping at straws a bit... if I could go back further than 10 years it would be easy. Two older shows that jump to mind immediately for a top 10 are Batman the Animated Series and Seinfeld.

Here's what I got for the last two at the moment:

9) Wonderfalls (This, like Firefly, falls into the 'Fox's brilliant but canceled' category)
10) The Office (UK version)

I am going with the British Office because I watched it in it's entirety and have only seen a few episodes of the US version. The first season of the US one didn't do much for me, because I was constantly comparing it to the UK version. I love Gervace as David Brent. The conclusion of the UK version is just so awesome too. Very epic and emotional. Glad the characters all got the closure they did. In the US one - from the little I've seen - it seems that they are stretching the characters a bit thin, to the point of campyness. I may have had a different opinion if I had seen the US version first, and experienced the whole show, but watayagonna do.
