Has anyone tried to use a slim shouldered Hot Toys true type to replace the Pro Stormy body? Is it "Skinny" enough? Or do you have to trim him down?

There were some great photos and a paragraph on HowTo a few pages back in the Stormtrooper picture thread. Also might want to check the SDCC Han & Luke trooper thread too bud. I saw pics there and a HowTo just last week. :D

the slim true type will fit a sideshow stormtrooper no problem, i have 2 on a slim. i'll try and post some pics.

edit:i dont think a narrow shoulder true type will fit though.

Thanks it's good to know...

ya slim body fit...not narrow shoulder...only thing is you need to pull out the leg at the knee joint to slot in the armor for the thigh ....heat the shoes and push the HT ankle pegs coz the pegs are bigger...good luck...

Hi

Here's my Sideshow Luke and Han (Lukes on a Slim True Type - Han is standard) As you see... Giraffe neck syndrome!
<a href="https://s593.photobucket.com/albums/tt20/Darthgothikus/Han%20and%20Luke/?action=view&current=Tenshun.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://i593.photobucket.com/albums/tt20/Darthgothikus/Han%20and%20Luke/Tenshun.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

I swapped Luke back after taking these shots to standard body (but tightened all the screws and wrapped the body and joints to A: Pad out the armour... and B: stop the joints flopping about!
I found the True Type was a bit to thick round the waist for the armour to fit nicely and the thighs were a bit big as well - very tight fit!
<a href="https://s593.photobucket.com/albums/tt20/Darthgothikus/Han%20and%20Luke/?action=view&current=Truetypetrooper.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://i593.photobucket.com/albums/tt20/Darthgothikus/Han%20and%20Luke/Truetypetrooper.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Fits great in Marmit Armour, and makes a nice Farm Boy Luke too!

Good Luck, and post some pics of what you come up with!

You're using the new slim body in the Marmit, or the narrow shoulder version? I would have assumed the slim would have been too floppy. I have 2 stormies with the regular TTs and they fit perfectly.

It's the new Slim.

I also thought the Marmit armour would swamp this body, but it's actually pretty nice.

Stands and poses well (Backpack makes him a bit top heavy, so I usually leave him on a stand overnight, but generally OK)

I guess the difference would be that the cloth doesn't bunch up as much at the bicep and thigh armor. I should find another set and try with the new body... no such thing as too many stormies.

Whoa, I had no idea there were two versions! So there is a slim body type and a narrow shoulder type? What's the difference?

The Slim version is shorter which makes it ideal for Stormtrooper Luke.

There are currently 3 styles of male True Types:

True Type
True Type - Narrow Shoulders
True Type - Slim

The True Type and True Type - Narrow Shoulders are identical except that the arms are a little closer to the body at the shoulders and the shoulders have a slope to the tops instead of just being a big round circle like the True Type, which makes the overall shoulder width on figures look more natural and narrow.

The True Type - Slim is a totally unique body, it's skinnier all over, arms, legs, body, neck. It's almost like a Medicom body but as tall as the other True Type bodies. The smaller build is what allows it to fit into the Sideshow Stormtrooper armor.

I don't have the narrow but I ordered a Slim for my Tony Stark and it was about an inch shorter than the regular True Type so I kept Tony as-is. Now I'm thinking of using the Slim for Storm Luke.
