I was reading a post from indiewire's blog and came across this blurb...

We're just over a week away from "The Dark Knight Rises" swooping into theaters, and Warner Bros. is throwing everything they've got at the movie to ensure it will be one of the year's biggest films. Not that they have to worry. They could've declined to show anything from the movie until today, and there would still be lines around the block next weekend (hope you got your tickets early, folks). But thankfully for Bat-fans, they haven't taken that approach. Instead, we get a pretty sweet new Mondo poster above, two new clips below, and already, teases of a Catwoman movie.
The first clip is an extended look at the "it comes in black" meeting between Lucius Fox and a hobbling Bruce Wayne, and don't worry about spoilers, because the movie is nearly three hours long and this is likely all approved by Christopher Nolan.

Meanwhile, the next one is another slight extension of what we've seen before, with Catwoman warning Bruce Wayne. Speaking of which, Nolan recently chatted with Access Hollywood, and once again reiterated he was done with the Batman universe, but also stumped for Anne Hathaway to get her own movie. “For me, Gotham and these characters, I’m done. I’ve told our story and I’m moving on,” he said, but added that another director could helm a "Catwoman" movie for the actress. “I certainly think she deserves it, she’s incredible.”

“Anne is incredibly precise and articulate about the psychology of the character. She’s really built it from the ground up, it’s just a delight to watch her perform,” the director enthused, adding, “She’s an incredible character and we’re very excited to see her and hopefully we’ll leave people wanting more.”

We wouldn't be surprised if WB executives are already kicking around the idea, and you can bet that if the character is a hit with fans, that idea will continue to build steam (particularly since the studio's last effort to boot up a movie around Catwoman with Halle Berry failed miserably).

"The Dark Knight Rises" opens on July 20th

I don't know what it is about Catwoman spin offs. Since Batman Returns they've had these gigantic dreams for the character in a solo film. First they were going to try and get Michelle Pfeiffer to join the spin off in a film that BARELY connected Batman and Batman Returns of Batman in general. Some weird crap. It wouldn't even take place in Gotham. Pfeiffer pulled out and the project failed and rightfully so.

Then out of nowhere the Halle Berry Catwoman project comes to fruition, and we all know how that turned out.

I like Catwoman, the character is a great one but when Batman isn't involved and Gotham isn't involved it's like, why bother? I don't see why WB and filmmakers are so obsessed with this type of spin offs. Catwoman was in a film 20 years ago and is in a film now and they're fine. Why not just stick to that formula.

And besides, Catwoman isn't the one that I necessarily think these reviewers are talking about when it comes to spin off material. There is another . . .

You could've just watched Monster's Ball again. It's like 1000x better anyway. Even has Ledger in it, if you're into that like the Nolancompoops. :huh :lol
It's been a long time since I watched Monster's Ball, but does she wear some tight leather pants?? I do remember there being the sex scene, but I really don't want to watch it because I'd have to Jedi mind-trick myself into blocking out Billy Bob.

:lol

I still haven't seen the Halle movie.. :monkey3

You didn't miss anything. Really bad movie with even worse CGI in it. Then there's Sharon Stone, but CGI might've made her look better.

Can't really say what I'd think of Hathaway having a whole movie to herself as Catwoman, being that I haven't seen her play Catwoman yet.

That said, I'm more interested than I would have been in a Michelle Pfeiffer Catwoman movie.

Spoiler tag that ____ :thwak

I agree, Catwoman doesn't lend itself to solo films IMO. The character is best played off of Batman. I feel the same about her comic story-lines too. Majority of the best stories involve Batman in some capacity.
