I've had a strong urge to add a competent compact camera to my arsenal, so I was trying one out today. Overall I hate the camera so far (the ergonomics are OK, but the image quality sucks). However, I did get one shot that I liked while I was exploring an old (and I mean OLD) house:

That's an awesome shot RoboDad. I wish I could find an old house like that- great find! Did you check to see if that light still worked? I bet that would make amazingly creepy pictures.

I captured this shot a week or so ago, I really love the contrast and the details that the light revealed.

Thanks! I assumed that the power was shut off in the house, so I didn't even think to try that bulb. About the house, it was built in 1902, in Emmett Idaho. It is actually for sale right now, but the amount of work it would take to restore it to its former glory would be intense, and cost close to half a million dollars.

Very beautiful photo. I love how you can actually feel the movement of the flag in the breeze.

So I finally bought a Canon 7D. Now that I'm broke, and finally finished my internship, I've taken it out for a test run. Here are some pics from this week:

Awesome pics, I have a Canon Rebel, haven't used it that much, gotta get some pics up here.

Hi Robodad! :wave

...you can't see me can you... because I'm on your ignore list. :(

Not at all! I just have the double down thread on ignore. :D Reading it makes my blood pressure go :monkey4. :lol

On topic:

I am really curious to know what lens agen used in those shots. Judging from the excellent depth of field and overall contrast levels, I'm betting it is a very fast lens that cost more than my entire loaded camera backpack. :lol

Those are awesome! :rock

Just seen this in my garden so grabbed the camera. Never seen one of these in my garden so it was pretty cool. :rock

Nice lightning shots, RoboDad! Are any of you photographers coming to Celebration V here in Orlando? If so, we definitely need to meet up!

I took these yesterday:

Thanks, agen! Unfortunately I won't be able to attend C5, but one of these days we all need to find a way to meet up and take a small photo safari (even an urban one).

Your shots are beautiful as always! And Jay, I love that dragonfly shot! Those guys can be very elusive.
