@ Lazenby, IF you really had "friends" working at Mattel and you're leaking this information, if they track them down, well, they might be out of a job thanks to you...

We all wish this was true, but if Matty isn't yet convinced of making a Castle Gayskull for the MOTUC line, which is selling like pancakes, I honestly don't think they will be doing 1 1/6 Ecto-1.
Maybe, and that's a big "maybe" one for the 6" line...

an 1/6 scale Ecto 1 from Mattel is NOT true at all and will not happen

I tried to put the trap on Peter's nelt last night and the strap almost broke at the peg, i had to glue it...what's the proper way to attach it to the belt?

I don't think most people realize there's another way to attach the trap. I don't know if it's movie-accurate but it was certainly the way the belt and trap were designed.

On the bottom of the trap there's a screw surrounded by a round plastic rim. This round peg is the exact size for the round loop that you always see unused in all the pics of the figures.

That's what I've been looking for too for weeks now! I need a PKE meter, and the Mattel Ghostbusters proton pack for my 12" Egon! I posted a thread in the want to buy/trade section of the commerce area here, and no one has replied to me about it.

So it looks like both Jediguy and I are needing a PKE meter for our Egons. Help us out if you can! Thanks!

Yep, here's a shot from the Sedgewick Hotel when Egon is using his PKE meter:

The shot is kinda small, but if you look closely, you can see the wand hanging from that loop.

The loop is for holding the wand when not in use. Both Egon and Ray use it in the film. I've yet to find a way of using it with the figures.

This is how Ray holds his trap in the film on his belt and how it is intended to be held on the figures. You don't have to put the pedal and cord there but it is the most screen accurate use of it I found:

YES! that's the correct way of hanging the trap and pedal, as for the loop, i drilled a small hole on the gun track and inserted a litle paper clip shaped as a hook, so i could hang the particle thrower from the belt and it looks cool!!!!!!!!!!!!

heres my set of ghostbusters so far, elbow pads are still to be added to peter and egon, ill wait until i get winston before i sort that out. overall im really pleased with these, a bit of minor futzing required but vartel's heads and a ttl body make a significant improvement i think.

Ray and Egon are VERY nice. But I would definitely go with Mattels Venkman head sculpt over this one, IMHO.

Matty sculpts don't bother me, either. I figure they fit the GB tone, anyway. Comedic looking.

It's not that great an illustration anyways dude.

Mattel's in house artists are not up to the task if you ask me.
Looks like a horrible cocktail of lousy rendering with Photoshopped photos and screen grabs.
