Neca 1/4 scale Batman Begins Batman

Got this guy today a few pictures. I am def gonna upgrade the cape. Can't stand how it sticks out in the last couple pics. Will be getting neck modded, head repainted and figure matte coated(except for teh gauntlets and boots) so it's not as shiny...

I finally got stands for all 12 of my quarter scale figures. Don't know why it took me this long to get some stands.

Now Bale Bats and Joker can actually stand straight up without falling over.

I thought the same thing since all of the NECA 1/4 scale figures on their site are listed as "Excluded from sitewide discounts and promotions," but I used a 20% off code a few weeks ago to get this Batman Begins figure from Calendars.com for $80 shipped, and you can get the NECA's Batfleck figure from them today for $80 shipped using the JOLLY20 code. So it's hit or miss, for some reason.

Loving all the pics.

Ordered him yesterday so I should have him with me at the start of next week. Will look great next to the 1/4 NECA '89 Bats.

I repainted the torso of mine in matte black tamiya and sealed with tamiya matte clear. I hit the legs and head with just the clear and it looks identical, I could have done without the paint. I masked off the gauntlets and boots so they would stay shiney. I would recommend anyone who is looking to paint their figure, just to give their it a matte clear coat. You'll be done in minutes and the results are great.

I also painted around the eyes with black as the skin on mine looked a bit purple. I wonder why the figures eyes are painted blue, since Chirstian Bale has brown eyes?

It's worth just shelling out for the Tamiya spray. I've used their products before and they are great, especially the sprays.

Which is best, a lacquer or arcylic primer?

I've built and painted hundreds of models, and whether it's styrene, vinyl, or resin, I always use Testors Clear Lusterless spray. It works great over acrylics or oils. Available at pretty much any hobby store.

The only brands I have locally are Tamya and Mr Hobby. I'm sure Rustolium would do, I've seen several customisers use it. Maybe to a test on the back first?

Probably the same reason why companies insist on painting Keaton's eyes blue or dark blue, when they are green.

The DoJ Batman really surprised me, as I think the Afleck likeness is great, especially at that magnified scale.

BaleBats looks even better than any of the other HT sculpts I have and I'm happy with it overall.

NECA has been a pleasant surprise as of late.
