So as the title suggests...if you could return back to your school days for one week only, what would you do differently?

There are obvious situations that spring to mind and some of them would be a little too rude to mention :yess::naughty but imagine how cool it would be to go back with the knowledge you have now :exactly:

For me, i would have to go back to the day when i was 15 and acheived girlfriend grail status by getting that overwhelming sense of euphoria just because she held my hand!!! :slap WTF!!!! Take me back right now someone...PLEASE!!!!! :gah::gah: :lol

I honestly think I have regressed in some ways. I've let my brain stagnate since I finished college so I would probably do worse academically. I abhor the idea of studying even more now than I did then. (I thought it would go the other way but it hasn't)

As far as girls, well I went to all boys schools. I would however socialise more outside of school if I could go back.

Interesting thread topic. I was just thinking about what I'd do differently if I could relive my childhood years with the mental capacity that I have now. I was practically a loner when I was a kid. I made very few friends, and whenever I'd lose friends (from transferring schools, or someone moving away), I'd go through months, and sometimes years of dry seasons without befriending anyone new. It even continued on to high school.

It's kind of sad. A few years ago, I found a few of my best friend from primary school and middle school on Facebook, and decided to shoot them a message. But, the dudes couldn't even remember who I was. Needless to say, I used to hang out with them everyday, so I found it quite strange...

I guess if I could change one thing from my childhood years, it would be to take the initiative and talk to people a little more. Things are great in the present, but I feel like a man without a past, who no one remembers :lol

:lecture This. I've been going through the thoughts of going back to get my doctorate, but then I realize how time consuming school is. Roll that into work and play....not going to be fun.

But if we're strictly talking about say high school days, then yes it would be pretty neat to relive those days with a more "seasoned" approach. I worked a lot when I was in high school so I didn't get to experience the traditional high school social conventions like the Friday night football games and such.

Most definitely. I went to school again about 6 years ago to work on another degree. Loved it. It was a challenge with work and other life responsibilities... but I enjoyed every minute of it. I like learning...and that is what it was all about for me last time. The first time I went tp college after high school, it ended up being.more a social experience than a learning one.

My interests have changed since way back then and I would welcome the opportunity to go again.

when i attended college, there were many distractions and after graduation, i always felt i could have had a better GPA. i went back to school in 2003 and this time put my full focus into my schoolwork and came away with a 4.0 GPA. became a phi beta kappa member and even got a letter from Columbia inviting me to tour their campus and encouraging me to apply there. that wasn't possible for me at this late hour but i was very proud that when i focused, i could achieve great strides.

I guess we are talking middle/high school. I don't know if I would go back to that! :lol High school was rough. If I could go back with what I know know, it would be 9th grade and I would choose the people I hung out with better and be more focused on getting into good universities.

I woulda changed a few things, I take my time with things instead of always rushing. My grades I could have brought up, and I was a jock but was completely clueless with women. Sports and Gaming consumed almost all of my time.

On a few occasions girls invited me over to their houses to watch movies when their parents were out of town .....and I watched the movie on a seperate couch. One being the girl I was in love with in highschool......years later she told me she had a huge crush on me in highschool at which point I connected the dots. FML!!!! I would go back just to change those days ..... my wife probably would not agree!!!

Hey Dev, do you have any regrets of going to an all boys school? Or would you have prefered it to mix?

I was always the quiet guy at school, especially when it came to nights out with the boys...never liked to drink (beer especially) and i guess that singled me out :( I still dont drink so i havent changed there but i'm certainly not so quiet when i'm out with the lads :yess:

Refreshing to hear positive experiences from your school days...cant say i ever paid too much attention in class in the early years. Once i got involved with football and girls that was it! :monkey5 :slap :lol

I can so relate to part of your story. It was one hot summer back in 88 i think and the hottest girl in school was watching a soccer match which i was playing in. Just to explain, everyone and i mean everyone wanted to be with this girl and rumours were going round that she had a little sparkle in her eye for me! :yess: Well you guessed it, when i heard about this at half time/interval, i literally played out of my skin in the second half of the game and won our team the match by scoring 3 goals...low and behold she waited for me after the game and we walked home together.

Basically, that afternoon we became a couple (my first proper girlfriend)...and i fell in love!! :love i said i fell in love...she apparently didnt and we broke up within a week! :gah::monkey2

I still got to hold her hand though!!! :yess::yess:

I liked my secondary school (high school), particularly where it was situated near the foot of the mountain with fields all around it, great views. However I deeply regret that it was an all boys school, as was my primary school. That, combined with the fact I have no sisters, really stunted me when it came to girls and it continues to impact on me today. I am useless. I'm actually a decent looking bloke but my personality disappears when faced with a good looking girl. I can think of nothing to say, which is a problem as you might imagine.

Sorry to hear that, you must have been gutted.

Not as gutted as she was...apparently the guy she met after me had got her pregnant and didnt want to know her after he recieved the news...looking back now that could have been me with a baby at 16! :horror Thank god i was a gentleman back then and holding hands was as good as it got for me :lol:lol

I can only imagine being the same way as you had i attended an all boys school, plus the fact that soccer/footall is totally forgotten at all boys school and is replaced with Rugby and Long distance running! My two least favourite sports! :lecture :lol

When I look back, the studies, the curriculum that I believed to be so difficult then seem like a piece of cake now. If only I'd have put a wee bit of extra effort to it, life would have been so different today.

I suppose compared to college the workload was far less what with all of one book (with lots of pictures/large font) for most subjects that had to be studied. I felt really out of my depth in college.
