Hot Toys Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield) - The Amazing Spider-Man 2 [NWH]

Just opened mine.

I don't particularly like it?

Choice of material for the blue and articulation is fine. Height of the figure matches Andrew's lankiness.

However...

1. Masked head is off in terms of shape or proportion when looking it from the front. Side profile is fine. I think the chin area isn't wide enough to match the face shell of the real suit. Way too skinny.
2. The red...oh man the red. Why can't these companies realise that the actual red portion of the suit isn't...pure red? There should be a metallic sheen and a subtle pink tone when light hits it. Funny how Endgame Captain America has the red that should've been on this suit.
3. Shoulders can be wider.
4. Shame they couldn't get Andrew's likeness and rights.

Overall...it is fine? Definitely better than the original, but I wouldn't say it is a 2.0. More like a 1.5 version.

Mine arrived a couple weeks ago and I really don’t feel any compulsion to open it.

Had it turned out more like these repainted, modified-body versions, I’d at least be willing to give it a chance-

- but I think Tobey is all I need now, as he is my definitive Spidey.

My MCU interest was waining when NWH came out and since then it has dropped lower than I could ever have imagined possible. Although Garfield was a highlight of that movie, this figure doesn’t do him or the suit justice.

Also, since this went up for PO, the 1/6 game has had a real shakeup and leap in quality, which just makes the inaccuracies and inadequate proportions here even less acceptable.

Think I’ll probably wait for that RCN sculpt to release and then sell this off.

I had this on pre-order, but when it came to pay for it, I cancelled.
It's not terrible, but it isn't good enough for me to spend hundreds of dollars on, especially for the trash that is Amazing Spider-Man 2. No Way Home was what made me pre-order, but now a couple of years later without the emotions, it was easy to skip.
Now, the Tobey Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man and the re-release of the black suit are must haves for me.

Yeah this has to be one of HT laziest releases recently. Head sculpt is average, I hate the neck sorry to people who like this. I love the costume up on the neck but the way they designed it with the thick plugs and it restricts articulation. Awful. The suit is badly tailored, one of the worst cases of the sleeves riding up, the color looks off, the feet keep falling off the legs, no accessories. Ugh. Why do I have to be a completist lol?

Yes, for me I love the eyes, spider symbols (chest and back), and the long slender body they used. So for me it really captures that Amazing Spider-Man vibe very well.

I still want to pick this one up but just didn’t have the scratch at the time. Now that the prices have gone up it will push my timeline even further back before I can get him at a decent price.

I got mine at PopCultcha. It came to about 260USD very good price IMO

I decided to get the Integrated Suit during Spooktacular when it was on sale. Also am on the waitlist for the Maguire Spider-Man. So I do want this one to complete the trio.

For a long time I haven’t wanted MCU/Marvel stuff but I would like some Spidey figures as well as an Iron Man or two (mostly from the first film).
