Maybe I'm missing something obvious here but what happened to Mark's 51-84?

Probably same story as what they covered in Iron Man 3.... After the battle of NY, Tony begins creating different armors and continuously improves his tech. I'm assuming he does the same after the snap.

One of them should the the Hulkbuster 2.0 as you said. The other is unaccounted for but I'm assuming its a prototype nano-tech suit or something similar that served as a foundation for the Mark 50. Similar to how Mark 41's separation technology was further improved to include prehensility, resulting in the Mark 42.

Considering he’s stranded on Titan at the time of the snap, I’m curious to hear your theory on when he creates those other 34 armors. I suppose that could explain Endgame’s added run time. lol

Maybe I'm missing something obvious here but what happened to Mark's 51-84?

In universe, we still don’t know. Out of universe they jumped to 85 because if this really is Iron Man’s last movie, then 34 more suit designs means that toy companies can keep pumping out Iron Man merch for years even without RDJ in the MCU.

It sounds like there will be quite a bit of time jumping in this movie. Getting the Mark LXXXV from the future seems the most logical explanation, and one assumes they'll be revisiting the past in order to undo the snap. If Feige & the Russos can pull this off seamlessly, I will be extremely impressed.

Yes the section where the legs connect to the body is light years better designed than the 46/47
