My guess is that Coulson and Chitauri will be announced and up for pre-order around December/January time, they will be released around April-July in which we will get announcements from the Iron Man 3 line.

To be honest with his role in Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Thor and The Avengers and him being the head of the new SHIELD TV show I wouldn't call him a secondary character anymore!

I think Hot Toys need to change up who they do for con exclusives.
If Coulson is a con exclusive it's just a reason for them to increase the price tag on what should be a fairly reasonably priced figure.

A sleeveless Thor from The Avengers would make a better con exclusive than Coulson.
