Feng's Studio - Quantum of Solace: 007 Head Sculpt

It’s definitely the nose and mouth that are a bit off, and a the hairline on the sides needs to be pushed back a bit. Fix that and it’ll awesome.

Spenser I know you took a few stabs at craig sculpt mostly using that picture as a guide / reference for front shots.
From what i can see about Feng's sculpt is that it's his resculpted series... not his original sculpt. Since you mentioned about the nose... he did made it wider in the first place... It was me who told him to sand it down cos from what i can see is that the original sculpt, the eye positions are fairly close together so if he left as it was then the whole sculpt would be off.

As for mouth yeh i think he could thicken the right hand corner of Craig's mouth a bit but that reference pic is way too exaggerated though...
I grabbed some random ones from google and they dont look that thick... also the left facial muscle dont look quite like that...you can never have too many ref pics...

From what I know this sculpt is base on Solace reference pics.... as for hairline and style i think he went for this look...

The width and over all shape is fine…it the part between the nostrils, it doesn’t drop down that far.

I have the rare stubble beard AB Craig head. Absolutely superb work. One of Andy's best IMO.

I have one too, Andy was quite awesome in selling me one of the few he had left after the run was long over. I can't bring myself to have it painted because it is just so awesome, same with his Bale.

I love this sculpt just as much and if I can order it already painted and ready to throw on a True Type it'd be absolutely awesome.

Here are some mockups of changes that have been mentioned in this thread. I think with a couple of tweaks this head would be perfect.

From left to right: Revised head, Reference, Original head

I changed the hair, skin and eye color. These changes would be part of the paint process. Sculpturally, I pushed back the hairline on the sides, removed the wrinkle in the forehead, fixed the tip of the nose and thickened the lower lip with a skew to the left side.

I don't mean in any way to offend Feng. This sculpt is amazing without any changes and I sincerely hope I can get one for my Bond custom.

If you look at fengs sculpt from the eyebrows down only, it's undeniably Daniel Craig. Theres something wrong with the forehead/hair that's throwing the overall sculpt off.

That's weird cause I think the top half of the sculpt is spot on while below the nose seems off to me.

Again with respect to all the other attempts at Craig's likeness comparison shots aligned with photo's would be redundant in Loading Toys case I suspect.
That said, Craig's visage is open to interpretation - just look at these lifesize waxwork shots for dramatically varied takes on 007...

London Madame Tussauds has Craig somewhat refined...

And this is Tussauds Blackpool - far more gnarled and in real life I have to say, pretty convincing...!

WOW. I think the first one looks a lot better. It might be the flash but the 2nd Craig's eyes are too blue and he looks weird (once again could be the flash). But that first one is so lifelike, it's like he is standing there for real.

Daniel Craig's likeness seems to be the hardest to capture outside of Harrison Ford.

Even harder to paint too, no one can seem to get his hair or eyebrow color right including Feng.

Feng's head is probably the second best I've seen, but its missing some pivital features that throw the whole thing off, namely the pronounced upper lip.

I did not like Andy B's sculpt in the slightest, Longbows looked more like him but a bit exaggerated. Feng's is an improvement on both.

but IMO none come nearly as close as the Loading Toys version. About all that was off about that one was the ears. if you took Feng's ears and the LT head it would be perfection.


And on the subject of the wax sculptures, MT is closer but that second one is just creepy.
